I may have a contact at Stellantis that can get the number for you, I will let you know when I hear back.

If you go to the ram site and build a truck, try building a cab and chassis. They have chrome bumpers, and I'm pretty sure you can add nearly every option the longhorn has except the badging. Then buy a factory box to put on and your done.

You could also try to order one from an Upfitter in your area or close to you. Usually they have different options when ordering as I believe they bypass the dealer.

You cannot mount a factory box on a cab & chassis. The frames are different. If it was possible I'd have a 4500 with a box.

you're confused, that means it is a truck. they put plastic bumpers on your mommas Prius
I personally like the chrome bumpers. But I am old (55), so there ya have it. As the OP mentioned painted ones get a lot of chips in them from road grit. It just looks like a cheap way out to me. Now for the really horrifying news. The "chrome" bumpers that I made sure were on my Laramie, are plastic! I went under there to undercoat the rear one to keep it from rusting, only to find out it was plastic! Just like our Durango they have a metal bar across that is the actual bumper, but the nice part that you see is plastic. My company truck, which is a Chevy, has chrome bumper ends that are plastic as well. They don't seem to pit as bad as the painted ones, so I will take it.
Oh & by the way OP, I would find it highly unlikely you can get the factory to put chrome ones on. You would have to buy them (probably stupid expensive even though they are plastic) & have the dealer install them.

To the OP, let it go. They're never going to do that. Those options change - as others have stated - maybe that becomes your benefit.

I really like my chrome bumpers. On my last truck, I grew to dislike them, but they held up well. I fussed with that configurator optioning my truck, I waffled a lot between colors and bumpers. When I looked at the trucks on the lots RAM HDs without chrome bumpers looked 'odd.' I also like the way chrome breaks-up the ends of the truck. I felt my truck would look like a large black ***** without them.

Enjoy the weekend, y'all.

What year is your Laramie? My 2019 Laramie 3500 has chrome metal bumpers.

is it cost prohibitive to have the bumpers stripped and chromed?

Probably. As I assume they would have to first have to removed to do it, and then reinstalled.

Hi there - it sounds like your order specialist was able to get a price on chrome bumpers from our parts & service team, so at least that's an option. The way that some of these changes have come out has been . . . lets say confusing at some points. Further, what is shared online on the build & price is not always what is compatible (or same price) as the actual ordering software. We do our best to work through those challenges as best we can.

There are even occasions where what the images show online is not what shows up in person, small details, but it happens (wood steering wheels anyone?)

Ultimately, however, we're not able to force the plant to add/remove anything that is not able to be keyed in to the system, there's no workaround for us or hotline or ticket entry system to flag for a change. Wish there were, because there are quite a few instances where something that SEEMS like an easy swap for preference is not available to us when placing the order. Best we can do is try to find the aftermarket MOPAR avenue.

By and large, we love the product, and appreciate the loyalty that you all have to RAM - and we work through it as best we can together. I hope that you'll find the rest of your experience with MARK DODGE to be awesome, and let me know if it isn't. And I'm confident you'll love the new truck once you get behind the wheel.

You can mount a pick up bed on most anything I did on this GMC 7000 it was a former pumper truck for a volunteer FD..

:) Seriously?!. You cannot order a new Ram Cab & Chassis and a new Bed( box) from a dealership and have them assemble it for you. The chassis are so different in so many ways it is not happening at any dealership that would receive your order.
Can it be done custom, sure. Anything can happen But that's NOT what the person stated in a previous post.

I do not believe that to be the case with my 22 Limited Longhorn. But I will check it here in a bit. I know for sure it was not the case on the chrome bumpers of my 18 Laramie 2500.

EDIT: Just checked. The chrome bumpers on my 22 2500 Ltd Longhorn are metal.

I also just heard back from my Dealership Service Writer. He confirmed that the chrome bumpers are NOT plastic, but chrome plated steel.

There's a shop in utah that does bed conversions in 9 or 11 foot beds for 4500/5500

Go back and read the Post #40, specifically paragraph 2. That is what I was responding to and quoted in my post.
And I'll say it again, third time, you cannot do that. The bed will not just bolt on. Simply not a dealer option.
Besides, its impractical to suggest it just to get a chrome bumper. Just go buy a chrome bumper!!

Back in the day we used to stick magnets on stuff to test out whether it was steel or bondo. Never thought I’d need that test on a new truck!
