Roy,

Don't bother with Mopar. Dealerships are independent franchises, and as such, Mopar won't and honestly CAN'T do anything for you on this basis.

Call your insurance company, file a claim, give them every single solitary DROPLET of information you have, and tell them to have their legal counsel contact the dealership to get this resolved.

Assuming we have enough of your side of the story to make a reasonable assumption, this is basically what we're working with -

1. Truck goes to dealer for fuel system recall work.
2. Truck self-immolates in under 50 miles.
3. Fuel system on said truck was last tended to by said dealership.

Is this basically correct?

You should also be talking to the dealership, and the service advisor you spoke with and letting them know, hey, my truck burned to a crisp directly after you worked on the fuel system. You need to get back with me, and have your general liability insurer get with me on this.

As a former shop owner, this is WHY THE SHOP HAS LIABILITY INSURANCE. In case we total or burn your car down!

Tim

that’s is what I’ve done. the insurance company has been doing all the work. The appraiser contacted me this week. He also recommended an investigation into the reason for the fire. they contacted me today ad asked some specific question about the situation . He will be continuing the investigation along with ram next week. I have talked to the service advisor this week as well. Who gave me other numbers to call. In the mean while i picked up my new ram 2500 today

I am glad to see your insurance is showing an inclination to investigate. Mine showed none, at least to me. Hope your new truck treats you well. After 20 years of Dodge/Cummins trucks, and being something of a CTD promotor, I just ordered a '24 GMC.

Go after that dealership with the most crooked slimebag lawyer you can find and get as new fully liaded Ram you can get. I'm so glad you didn't get hurt.
