Not sure what adjective applies with this type of self serving promotion.

We're here to help
According to the Insurance Bureau of Canada (IBC), auto theft is on the rise and costs Canadians more than $1 billion annually. You can count on us to help you protect what matters and enjoy the peace of mind you deserve. We’re here to provide the coverage you need, along with exceptional service and personalized advice.
How can you help
Whatever make and model you’re driving, you can make your vehicle a less appealing target with these 10 tips.
  1. Keep your keys or keyless fob away from doors and windows. Use a faraday bag to block the signal from being intercepted and reprogrammed.
  2. Use a wheel club, data port lock or alarm system.
  3. Make sure your vehicle isn’t left running unattended.
  4. Park in well-lit areas, or in garages.
  5. Don’t keep personal identification or valuables in your vehicle.
  6. Lock doors and close windows when parked.
  7. Install an immobilizing device to prevent hot-wiring.
  8. Add a vehicle tracking device.
  9. Check Équité’s annual list of top 10 most stolen vehicles when shopping for a vehicle.
  10. Before purchasing a vehicle, do some research and request all required documentation from the seller.
Really??..my my..you guys are on the forefront of Vehicle Theft!

The faraday bag stops keyfob relay attacks which have been used in the past to target some high end cars.

Relay attacks (keys are by the door and the attacker uses a RF relay to make the car think they are inside) can be used to take the whole car.

There are a couple of other capture and replay attack vectors (RollJam and RollBack) that can’t start the car but can but can be used to unlock the car at a different time.

I was at Blackhat for a medical device hacking discussion but sat through a good talk on keyfob RF attacks.

So what exactly are you upset about?

Personally, I'd rather not deal with an insurance claim for stolen truck and items inside. Seems like all parties win if you don't have your items stolen.

Rams are one of the lowest percentage at 0.02% going by that list, and i don't see Challengers or Chargers on the list. Does that mean FCA/Stellentis owners qualify for lower insurance rates, lol

Insurance become as same as bank, they just take your money but if you try to use them, better think twice if this gonna be good for you in the next renewal.

I only pay 400$ a year for basic. :driver: :anitoof: Started doing this when I paid off the truck 7 years ago. Thats 10Kless I had to waste over those 7 years.

I dont buy into the insurance ********, I also never bought Mortgage insurance in my life or even have life insurance for that matter. house insurance is the bare minimum 600$ a year since I no longer have a mortgage. The less money you give those greaseballs the better. Youd be surprised how much money you save when you switch to not giving a **** :birgits_tiredcoffee

Its Literally the same as the extended warrenty scams.

If my truck is stolen I’ll wait a few days to report it as I don’t want it back
except if the thief uses your truck to rob a store/bank, causes and accident or runs someone over you'll be the one answering the question from the police.
Depending on your state, the insurance company can take 30-90 days to pay out on a stolen vehicle so until then you could still get it back. Best thing to hope for is it's destroyed or torched.

I hear you guys..I am of the same mind. No mortgage insurance,,laugh at the "extras" the auto Ins..this one here..tries to load onto the policy..But the cheekiness of them to get YOU the consumer to pay for methods to reduce the chance of theft that they would have to cover..which never is the value of what you lost anyway..Such a maddening corperate world out there!

I can see that conversation, right now.

Mr, GoFishN, your Truck was used, in the commission of a serious Crime.
Do you know where it is?

No Shift? Which one of the kids borrowed it?
Not like I was using it, anyway. Never thought twice about it.
Did it get stolen, from them, or something?
Did they leave the keys in it?
Dang Heathens!
Go figure out which one of them did it and bring them over here so I can kill them.

Been telling them, their entire lives, Kids fun to make & easy to replace.

Try and rent a car with no insurance and get into an accident. Your personal insurance may or may not cover the car itself. But that's not the big ticket cost anyways. Most rentals done are people out of state, and if you hit the wrong person you'll be sued. My dad had this happen to him, and it was the other drivers fault to begin with. 6 years of hiring a lawyer in the vacation city/state he had the accident in as well as a lawyer close to him in his home state. Just to go back and forth trip after trip as it continues to drag on. In the end the court ruled in his favor. But all the flights, lawyer costs x2, hotel costs, etc added up to many times more than just getting full coverage for what? Like $25 a day worse case.

Since seeing him go through all the bs for years I always ask when I rent a car "which one is where I hand you the keys and walk away with no impact to me?" You should see some of the reactions!! :) But seriously, it's peanuts to what he paid over those 6 years. Not even close.

Not many Insurance Companies will insure me
I had a DUI back around 1999, no damage, no injuries
I had a Speeding Ticket in the Tennessee/Virginia area, it was not a Reckless Driving which is 10 MPH over the posted speed, that must have been about 7 years ago.

Insurance Companies do not want to carry Commercial Drivers Insurance .. But Progressive does
They charge a bunch, tv commercials must eat up all their profits
I pay $5,400 annually for $750,000 coverage, which is the minimum for several States.
I used to have $1,000,000 coverage, to operate in Colorado, New Mexico, Pennsylvania & 1 other State, i just will not take a job that enters those States

we've used our insurance twice.once when 2 junkies climbed into our kitchen window and stole the wifes purse and minivan while we were sleeping.the insurance company wrote off the van and covered all the contents.they were living in it for a couple weeks.i was not sorry to see that horrid pos go.they have no idea how lucky they were.i sleep with a loaded 9mm.we weren't in any danger,we slept with the bedroom door locked out of habit from having kids in the house. they were eventually arrested and charged.the second time we used our house insurance my little 14 foot fly fishing boat floated away in a windstorm during the night on one of our camping trips.by the time i added up all the stuff that was in that little boat my insurance pay out was just under $22,000 to replace everything.there were really no questions asked, just fill out this contents list please and thankyou.had a cheque within a week.so i traded a crappy little 8 year old converted utility boat into a brand new Alumacraft Escape sc 145 with a brand new Evinrude 40 and minn kota trolling motor and all new gear and still had enough left over to have it shipped to me from the province next door.
