I'll probably still stick with Red Line for now, not withstanding my inventory, as price has gone up $28 per oil change, which I can afford once or twice a year. But not if I used my truck full time.
I have to agree. Twice a year for a really expensive oil and filter change, I can deal. But wow, a RL and RP oil change cost will test your conviction.

I'm in the same boat, but someone could run redline to a longer interval by adding bgmoa as well, a tbn booster. My guess is easily you can go up to 15k miles in one year if you add some bgmoa half way through the interval. Of course verify with a uoa, but bgmoa will extend that interval. Then it becomes an issue should a run a dirtier redline oil or two fresher lesser oils. Now, if your truck ticks on one and not the other, this is an easy choice.

Where you live in a hospitable climate, for sure.

Not so much for those of us stuck in American Siberia, includes my Canadian friends.

About to change out Rotella Gas/Truck. I dont have enough of it for another change, and can't find it anymore. I posted a little while back and someone mentioned QS might be the equivalent, which is fine.
If your using the 5w30 Gas/Truck you can still get it in Qt bottles 5w30 or 0w20 at Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Shell-Rotella-550050318-Synthetic-Fluid_Ounces/dp/B07MLXF1GD?th=1 or you can get the newer Rotella multi vehicle oil also at Amazon aka Rotella T6 in gallon jugs: https://www.amazon.com/Shell-Rotella-Synthetic-Vehicle-Diesel/dp/B08GG7R4TZ?th=1

Agree completely! I only do 1 Redline 5w30/RP 20-820 oil change a year (2K-3K miles).

My lack of existing inventory is disturbing :)

8 quarts of RL 5W-30 is now about $130.

vs 8 quarts of Mobil 1 ESP ($74), the most expensive alternative Im looking at. Each oil change is at least $56 more and I need 2 per year.

Im going an "in between" amount of 6K or so per year, including stop-and-go winter driving. Not 100% comfortable stretching it to a year without an oil change, I prefer to do it before and after the temp extremes so in the spring and late fall/early winter.

Im not cheap but if Im going to be dumping oil after 6 months, Im not quite sure there is a reason to spend for RL. Might not even be a reason to spend for Mobil 1 ESP. But to me its about finding the best price vs performance. I dont plan on getting rid of my truck anytime soon, so I would like to give it the best chance it can to not have engine issues down the road.

At one point I did a 2 year oci on redline 5w30 and still had over 3tbn left and 10k miles, just say'n. As long as you have spin microglass filtration, you certainly and safely can go 6k miles on redline even if it is 2 year oci.

I *am* sitting on 24 quarts of Kirkland 5W-30 purchased a little over 2 years ago.

I may try that this time. Getting a bottle of Lubegard to have on hand in case Im not happy with the Kirkland stuff (noise wise at least). It would probably be ironic if my Hemi likes the Kirkland stuff, which seems to be bottled by Warren and may even be the same as Amazon and SuperTech oils.

Just returned from my local Walmart - they have plenty of PP Euro L ($26/jug) and Castrol A3/B4 ($28/jug). Wonder how the Euro oils would work out...

Still going with Kirkland for this OCI, since I need to make room in the cabinet :)

Went RL 5w30 shopping last week and got It for 10.95 per qt at summit but should have been 11.95 prt qt. Called summit to do a price match and they did
Googled Red Line 5w30 and got this
That is the exact price of what it was pore inflation, 143 a case. Seams like this place hasnt caught up with inflation, if legit great deal.

Yeah thats not bad. I think I paid 120 shipped for 12 quarts from Amazon (through a 3rd party), but that was probably 4 or 5 years ago by now.

The reason I went with summit is that if you have an account and any purchases over $199 is 6 months no interest. So I got 14 5w30 quarts 2 royal purple oil filters and 1 RL fuel treatment.
