Not many bears in wainwright coyotes maybe. The average person in Canada doesn’t have guns like that. In fact the average Canadian doesn’t have any guns at all hence the low murder rate even a lot of the criminals don’t have guns
You're not overly familiar with the rural/farming communities then, there's still more guns in Canada then you think, lol.
Admittly Dilligaff has a few that the farming community might not have, but shotguns and rifles are still in fair supply in smaller rural communities

My mom grew up on a farm in between vermilion and wainwright. I spent a lot of time there. I was taught about guns and gun safety at a young age. Got a shot gun for my birthday one year. It’s not the same as it was. But yes there’s still lots of guns in the country. But if our current federal government has its way they will be gone to. No second amendment in Canada

Oddly for a country with such strict gun control we just had two police officers killed in the line of duty. So criminal types can still get guns.

The farming community is pretty stubborn,i highly doubt trudeau will get them to turn in their shotguns or rifles easily.
The criminals are 3D printing handguns now so his theories are kind of mute anyways. Can't track something that doesn't have a serial number that a kid built in their bedroom with a 3D printer

I have some friends with lots of guns too but most people don’t have any it’s nowhere near like the USA. I’m not a gun control fan I just don’t want some idiot shooting at me or my family.

...What's with the armory? ....
..

that's just a few Shotguns, and AR and assorted Firecrackers.

Hope he has more that that hidden away.
I feel for you, my 2nd Amendment Lacking Friend.

S.I.L. came over, help Wife out.
Said he and my Daughter were gonna go shoot the 2 Glocks I gave them,
for my Grandkids. Figured give them, now, or else my Son would lay claim.

Had him run up to the gun Closet and grab 500 rds of 9mm.
My Knee was acting up.

HUGE Mistake.

Daughter said you had a few but have you bought a bunch since Daughter and I got married?

Never you mind, take your Treasure, keep your mouth, shut, and scoot along.

Brain Fart.

Kids going to be over, trying to borrow one of long guns, now.
Ain't just Ma Bell that can, 'reach out and touch' someone.

stop hijacking threads with your gun crap.
How would you know how other people feel about guns?

You know you don't have to read the post don't you.I'm guessing you've had a bad experience regarding guns. If it bothers you just scroll on by,as some threads do get side tracked slightly. Things would be mighty boring and very quiet if everybody stuck to just the threads content, which might work for you,but for some of us,breaking up a thread after it's close to a 1/2 dozen pages long,is an okay thing.
So on behalf of alot of us,and to help with your blood pressure, please scroll on by the posts that bother you, before you start a war, that way the rest of us that aren't quite as bothered by the content can continue to enjoy the thread.
Thank-you for taking the time to read this :waytogo:

Camping protection from bears is how the subject of guns came about so it applies. For the record I don’t have any guns and haven’t for years

I haven't went game or bird hunting in years.I'm not sure my shoulders would handle a shotgun anymore,a 12G would probably knock me on my ass now,lol

Hunt "X"'s only, for decades.

Picked up this Henry 30-30 Lever action.
Most beautiful stock I've ever seen.
Drove 7 hours, round trip, to make sure that 'I Got It'.
No one else.

This image is not my gun.
Mine actually looks better.
Just too lazy to go dig it out & snap a picture.
Side loader, all black, none of the shiny shift crap.

First thing my Son and I did, along with my Neighbor and his Son, was head to the Gun Club.
The Boys, in their 20's gave up after about 8 or 9 shots. Neighbor and I kept at it.

Kids were like, don't that hurt?
Yep! But not enough to outweigh the Joy.

We paid for it, DEARLY, the next day.
Boys were all, was it worth it?
Yep.

It's a two way street. You don't like gun post and we don't like your anti gun post, yet we're both on the the same site. It's the internet and everyone is different.95b.jpg

Overlanding and guns go together.... well at least my part of the world lol. Camp in remote area where Yogi and Boo boo want to eat you.
Floridas got wild pigs, boar, bears, panthers, bobcats, alligators, and fox. I think most of what scares me here is actually the homeless though. Some of the ones that live in the woods are drugged out and go mental. Most of the wild animals tend to stay away.

We travel and camp all over Alberta too. They can smell bacon cooking from a mile away. That’s one of the reasons I try not to cook where we camp. Make breakfast and then pack up and move on stop for a early dinner then find a place for the night
