Can someone tell me how I can get more than 3 feet from my running 2022 Ram, with FOB in my pocket, and not have the horn start honking at me? Thanks

Does it honk, if you lock the doors on exit (both manually and with Fob) ?

I can understand both options - just finding it hard to understand why dodge would not give owners a chance to decide this kind of setting for themselves. Can someone tell me if this AlfaOBD I keep hearing about would allow me to change this honking issue?
Your truck is a 2022 model year ... Just go into the dealership and tell them the problem and they should re-program your FOB under warranty ...

Yeah I’ve never had that problem, mines a 2019 though so not sure if that matters.

Not quite right. The horn will beep if you leave the FOB IN the pickup and try to lock the doors with the electronic lock button on the arm rest, or the black insert in the outside door handle. It will however lock first try if you push down the silver manual tab on the inside pf the door and all the other doors are locked.

If the FOB is out of the pickup, whether it is running or not, all the lock options are available first try.
A few times I have got out , truck off, hit the lock button on door switches and as I walk away it will beep and door is not locked
It will lock with the fob.
I have had the truck not pick up the fob at times. But next time it is fine.

Couple times over the yrs it has locked me out and had to use the little key to open the doors.
Battery was fine, and new one did not help, next day it was fine
PS Dean yes, you are correct , key in truck it will beep, I hardly ever take key out of pocket, bugs the wife if I get out and leave it running ,if she doesn't have her key, thou that's not the horn beeping.

I have a 2022. What if you get out when its running, leave the fob inside, and lock it using the spare fob? I'm going to give that a try.

On my 2021, it will lock just fine with a spare live fob in the ruck, running or not.

Just tested the 2 fob thing. Good to go.

Started the truck. Got out and left the spare fob inside. Locked it from outside with the original fob. No dings or horn beeps. Good for quick stops running into the post office etc when it's 20 below. Not recommended for long pit stops especially if truck is not in view. Officer, I have no idea how the perp got my key.

Side note: don't leave the spare fob in the truck overnight or otherwise for long periods. A, easy smash and grab. B, it'll eventually drain the battery.

With my 2022, I don't have remote start, but I can get out after starting the truck WITHOUT buckling the seat belt, fob in my pocket, and it won't honk at me

Honk as in your horn, or your chime dinging saying fob has left the truck? If horn, never heard of that before, for chime, nope, can't change that. Leave the FOB in the truck as others have said.
I have a solution to the Horn Honk with Key Fob in pocket issue!

I do believe I was able to turn that off in settings on UConnect. I run into the post office with truck running and it chirps once and that's it.

I have developed a timed relay that will disable the horn for 10 seconds while you exit the truck and close the door. It is activated via the dome light.

It requires very minimal wiring packaged as I have it.
