I ordered a 2023 3500 Laramie Crew Cab 4x4 Night Edition on 14 March 2023. When I was building the truck at the dealership, the option to add the power running boards did not exist. It apparently existed for 2022 builds as my dealer has a 2500 with them. For 2023, the option wasn't/isn't available under any of the different models or trim packages. Now, I'm being told that Mopar parts doesn't even offer them after the fact. Does anyone know what happened to the Ram power running boards? Is it a part(s) sourcing problem or is it an operational problem? I know that AMP Research offers a power running board, but I wanted to have the control via the Uconnect display rather than an additional switch on the dash. Any suggestions...

I've been researching the same thing for my 22 2500 Laramie. Looking around on the Ram web site, mn the only place I'm seeing them on a 2023 3500 is as part of the Level 1 equipment group on a Limited. I'm going to call my local dealer tomorrow to see if they know anything.

We attended the Minneapolis auto show today and saw a 3500 limited that had them qnd my wife loved them. When extended, they hang lower than thenfixed boards I have now and she found it much easier to climb in (she is 5'1" tall). But I'm not ready to buy the $106K truck wenwere looking at. If I can't find the OEM boards I'll go with Amp Research. I didn't see anything about a switch on the dash though. I thought they just deployed automatically when a door opens and retract when the doorn closes???

When I checked the ram site, I noticed that they don’t seem to be available on the 3500. I did get them on my 2022 1500, which does have the soft buttons in the radio like you want. I had the Amp boards on my 2500 which were great. You can get a hard button to operate them which I believe you know.
I’ve only have had my truck for a couple of months, and I haven’t found the need to deploy them from the radio. So for me it’s not a big deal.
On my 2500, just hold some downward pressure, close the door and they stay deployed.

When I pull into a parking space, I deploy them from the radio as it deploys both sides that way. Standing on the board only keeps that one deployed. Adds a ton of protection from door dings and keeps people from parking right tight to you so you have trouble getting out of the parking stall or back in your vehicle.

You might want to consider the Aries Power Steps. I installed them on my 2500 and they are awesome. Wife had a bad hip at the time and the two steps made it easy for her to get in.
