There's always a debate about what is best for your 5.7 HEMI. There's been one for Best Oil, Best Oil Filter and what oil to use and which filter to use and more. Please vote below for the Oil Filter that you feel is the Best for your 5.7 HEMI non-eTorque. Royal Purple 20-820 as it's a tad bigger for a dribble more volume.
Fits perfectly with no issues and/or leaks.

Not really,i usually change oil once a season,which is maybe about 5,000 miles at most

Gotcha

Well i guess it cant hurt to have 2 filters. Did it affect your oil pressure reading on the dash being there will be a little more resistance to flow?

Dual filters in parallel reduce the restriction to flow,so my oil pressures actually went up by a couple psi,compared to the stock set-up

Maybe im just a dumb michigan swamp rat but …

In the case of nothing changing but adding a second filter Oil pressure is resistant to flow ….literally. So if the only thing that changed is an added filter and you pressure went up , then flow went down.

My bad is that I see you said in parallel. But still have oil pressure went up that doesn’t mean your flow went up.

Wally World SuperTech...$2.99/ea. I change my oil when necessary, I could use a *** of paper towels and get the same protection as a $10 filter, so why spend what I don't have to.

Pressure is measured after the filter,not before. Think about it,if you have the exact same flow volumn but you have twice the filter area to force it through,you're going to have more oil flow through 2 filters then one. Oil pressure is resistent to oil flow through the bearings not the filters.With 2 filters you reduce the pressure drop across the filters then if you have a single filter

There is not such thing as "best", unless you add at least one, if not 5-10-100 qualifiers.

Best dragster? Best 60 foot time? Best 1/8 mile speed? Best 1/4 Time? The list goes on ad infinitum.

This is why there is not, and cannot be. A BEST CAR. Car for what?
*Fastest 60 foot time at the drag strip
*Best gas/fuel/electron mileage at 42 MPH
*least carbon footprint (if that actually CAN be defined...)
*Highest Top Speed?

I could go on, but the night is young and I have more important things than to argue pointless subjects with some people I never met on the internet.

If someone is in 5 gen, they may not be aware of 4 gen known threads. You can see page 1 and 93 of oil filter thread, draw your own conclusions. The RP 10-48 shouldnt really be used, it's clone has a tsb on rams and the manu amsoil doesnt even recommend it's use, and while the 10-500 rp was tested in page 93, it is the same media as 20-820. The 20-820 so far has had no fitament issues. There is a lot of reasons the 20-820 is so popular even past those tests, it's just that those tests really validate forum results. You can say amsoil EA is just as good, but for whatever reason the rp 20-820 has more holes for flow, unless amsoil changed that dunno. I would try one rp 20-820, if it fits buy it by the case, many of us have stocked up because it is very important. Store them well, they will outlast you, put some silicone on the rubber.

I didn't see if the writer mention the plumbing config, filters in 'series' or 'parallel'. The latter is preferred after the first question I have w/filters.
Does the filter brand have negative back-flows? Yes, it will wick-down in time setting idle for some time, but make sure your filter will not allow a draw-back into the supply line when the pressure relaxes/cools on shut-down.
Series filter lines does not get what was intended. Filter #1 is building resistance due caught harden black carbon particles , then the oil pressure has to work thru the resistance of filter #2
What is the object for two filters? Go two years w/o filter chg?
Ask, what is it with all Magnum 4.7 eng lifters whining when oil pressures avalanches 15 points below average, don't muck w/the design ops pressure specs.

I'm guessing you're referring to my set-up.Not my first kick at the can with dual filters,so they're mounted in parrellel,and sit well below the oil filter set-up on the 5.7's,so there's no drainback. I was running this same exact set-up way back in the early 80's on big block chebbies,that tells you how long Transdapt has been building their dual filter set-ups,lol
