So, update on this.

It was a fuse. Which I thought I checked them all. lol
But now it keeps blowing the fuse. It last about a week, then it blows.

So I'm not sure if its the clockspring, maybe it's going bad?

Now, still my dome lights don't come on when the door opens or you un-lock it with the remote. They do work when you push them.
One thread I looked said it could be the headlight switch but everything functions on it besides the dome lights coming on when you slide the dial.

Sorta at a loss. Don't wanna change the $200 clockspring when that might not fix anything.
I bet it's the harness in the wheel. It's very delicate. I shorted mine and the horn wouldn't turn off. I fixed it with liquid electrical tape.

That would be a cheaper fix. Think that would happen something to do with the dome lights.

I see one for the 13+ rams but not for the 09-12 rams.

That I'm not sure of, just a guess really. There was a recall to replace the harness and add a piece to keep it from shorting on certain 4th gens. I'm not sure what years may have been affected though.

Do the dome lights work properly when the fuse isn't blown?

No, when the fuse blows the dome lights don't work at all.

The weirder thing is. I have led lights I put in the footwells and taped that wire in side that panel behind the headlight switch. I had a buddy come over who's good with the electronics and said that wire is not getting power. So I guess I need to trace where that wire goes and see if it's been cut or something.

Is it possible there is a short in the lights you added?

Well I did un-hook them when I first was looking into the problem. I was thinking maybe the wire came lose. But it was still connected.
I un hooked it the stock dome lights still didn't come on.

Hi guys I'm new to the forum and I have a 2016 ram 1500. I am experiencing the same issue. Error Code U1009 Lin 2 Bus. Left buttons on steering wheel do not work and also horn does not work. Although when I do lock the doors with the key fob the horn sounds. Hopefully we ram owners will learn and understand to fix this issue. If I figure anything out or get it fixed I will update the forum. Thank you

Couple weeks, my steering controls on the left side of my steering wheel stopping working. I noticed at night, the lights on both sides of the controls were going on and off as I turned the wheel. Thought I was going crazy. Horn, radio controls on both sides, instrument cluster buttons, heated steering wheel and voice control don't work. Oddly enough the cruise controls still work.

I've brought it to the dealer (should have come here first). They fixed a wire that didn't look right. Everything worked, then while it was still at the dealer the tech said it stopped working. Next day the ordered in a new module. Same thing, started working then stopped. Now they want to change another module that is sealed and can't be tested. I'm in it for $372 so far. It's another $409 for this last module and $200 for labor.

I'm holding off for now on this potential fix.

Anybody else run into this situation.

I'm dismayed at anyone professional, much less Dealers shot-gunning repairs on the customer's dime. It's low life in my opinion.

Sounds like the radio in my 22 . You might need holy water , a priest and a Hail Mary . It is so frustrating, these trucks are getting so complicated and nobody seems to know how to fix them .

Throw parts at them and hope it works , but your on the hook if it doesn't, not right .

Many years ago I had a Ford and it went nuts , barely ran and threw a list of codes a mile long . A buddy of mine was a Ford tech he had a look at it . Nothing made sense so out came the box , every sensor on that car . One by one he changed them , no change put old one back in. After about 7 or 8 bingo , throttle posion sensor and an egr valve at the same time . Would have cost me thousands at a dealer .

Good uck
