on the rear view mirror, there are 2 buttons
911 & Assist
911 is an indirect way to reach emergency services, your Cell phone is a more Direct connection

Assist connects you to a phone operator in Auburn Hills Michigan
that person can answers questions about things like General Knowledge , like stuff in the owners manual

These two buttons work through your vehicles AIR CARD
The Air Card is a phone modem
its phone number is your Rams Vehicle Identification Number

The Air card is completely independent of your cell phone

Was wondering if anyone has experimented with interfacing with a Sierra wireless aircard for cell network connectivity?

Spitballing, So Chrysler uconnect head units have built in aircards they use for telematics, remote updates, remote unlock, in car WiFi, and 911 access.

Some features are subscription like WiFi , unlock and remote location lookup, however the telematics and remote updates are always on because the manufacturer wants them.

This says to me that the cell modem itself always has an active subscription. ]

when you pay a monthly FEE for Uconnect, that activates the Air Card that is in your radio

Doubt my 911 would work...in Canada...heard most of this Telemetry wont work in up here eh.

I made a trip into Toronto, by way of the Queen's Bridge
I could use my cell phone around the ferry, but it no longer worked up around Canada's Wonderland & Richmond Hill

So i know that the Rams Telemetry will not work up there
Ram or i should say Chrysler, tried to make a deal with ROGERS back around 2011, but it did not work out.
