Is that city or Hwy mileage? Also what gears does the truck have 3.92's, out side of better control of your right foot keep your Hwy speeds around 68-70 MPH and use Cruise control as much as possible on flat land...
Hi Jim, u want to talk ****** gas milage? I have the 287- 4.7 V8 ram, thinking I'd get better gas milage compared to the hemi -Not. With all the emissions crap on these trucks not to mention the over-sized fuel injectors dodge used. Get this- my 4.7 is a 2011. I also still have my 1995 dodge, gen 2 going on 256,482 miles. Other than a small tick in the 318cc 5.2lt, I get way better gas milage with my 95 then my 2011. I have a good friend that drives a 2011 Ford -F150, I swear he gets over 22 gallons per mile, (Highway miles) Me, I'm lucky to get 16 gpm on the highway, (worse in town) If I travel more than 20 miles, I have to refuel. I noticed that I can get 2 to 5 miles better gas mileage if I keep the throttle body clean. Taking off my throttle body every 10,000 miles and cleaning the carbon deposits. I really hate to say this but I'm ready to trade in my 2011 for something with better gas milage. My friend keeps telling me to buy a Ford. I'm not a Ford fan,
Exactly...we all choose based on our individual priorities. And yes, I agree with you that the Hemi is not the best choice if MPG is the top priority, however it is certainly not the worst by any measure. Give the daily comfort, handling, features, towing, etc this is a great truck for me. I was definitely considering both the F-150 EB's and the Rams, and when I was buying I shopped hard, wide and far (just as the pandemic was starting) and found the Fords were getting a roughly $5K premium. That 5K buys a lot of fuel plus at that time the EB's were still pretty troublesome...just turned 100K and I'm still pretty damn happy.

That weight does not seam right. For reference, my 2022 classic, short bed 4x4 came in at 5060 total. GVWR on the door states 6350 giving me 1290 in payload. Take your GVWR minus payload will provide a weight. My 2500 weighs in at 6700 giving me a payload of 3300. 10000 GVWR.
Ok thanks. I wish my wife would have kept the scales recepits from my numerous trips to the dump. My only regrets with the ram is listening to my wife.I stood alongside a 1T Cummins same body configuration as my 1500 and the wife whined about it being too tall now after a 4” it’s about the same but a lightweight
Now I may be incorrect but believe the rating takes into account a 200lb driver. Don’t quote me on that. Weight adds up quick when you factor in gear and passenger. Factor in a 10-15% tong weight from a trailer, these trucks max quickly of what the rating indicates.
Correct! Did find this on wiki. Our friends across the pod sometimes include the driver. Don’t know where I read my comment above but I maybe right…. Maybe. In any case, rams are heavy vs gvwr.
