This is interesting. A friend was just talking about carbon build up on his Audi. Had me thinking about my engine. I'm not sure how much carbon build up is there on my engine at the moment. It's done over 280,000 kms (approx 173,000 miles).
I wonder which product would be the best. Reading through, it seems once again a certain brand comes out on top.

It's the ingredient PEA

Other brands have gone away from it, including inventor Chevron (Techron).

We don't know why. I haven't seen any evidence of any other cleaning chemical being as effective as PEA, and only Red Line still openly advertises it.

I haven't googled it for awhile, but couldn't find anything else when I did.

A while back, and a few vehicles ago, I would annually do a Seafoam service where I'd pull the vacuum hose off the brake booster and siphon an entire can (vehicle running at operating temperature, of course) and then shut it off and let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes.

Start it back up (I was going to be daring and just leave the vacuum line off, but common sense prevailed, I think ;)) and drive it like I stole it with a good highway run too.

What a fog would come out, but my vehicles ran great afterwards (plugs would get removed and cleaned afterwards, or just changed if they were due).

FFWD to now with my 19' - I managed to get two cans of the coveted MOPAR "CCC" yesterday and plan on doing the service, but I'm thinking I'd also do the Seafoam service first. Then a week or so later do the "CCC" service, followed by a double shot of RL SI-1, run it for a week or so, and then put in the new NGK Ruthenium HX plugs I just received from Rock Auto.

I just got done running three bottles of SI-1 through my tank. Wish I scoped before and after. This stuff is magic and I wish I did it years ago. I noticed a difference after a tank and a half and now am getting 2 to 2.5 mpg better. My mpg dropped about 30k miles ago and new plugs and injectors barely made a difference. Also tried Lucas injector cleaner and a bottle of seafoam through the throttle bottle and vacuum tube, which only made q temporary and slight improvement in mpg. SI-1 is the only thing that made a significant difference and got my mpg back.

Nitrous and full throttle are the best combustion cleaners i've ever ran into :waytogo: :Big Laugh:

Especially when you overpressure the block!

NHRA Special this weekend called "They Walked Away" - did you see it? Awesome.

You'd stretch head bolts long before you over pressure the block, lol. And you'd have to be hitting it with a 200+ shot of nitrous usually before you start stretching head bolts, lol
There's about a 1,000 youtube video's called "They walked Away",you'd have to post a link to it,to mean anything :waytogo:

Maybe it was the blowers getting blown off? What I watched was on MotorTrend TV, by the NHRA.
