Went to a local Krown location that was rated 4.9/5 stars on Google with great reviews for my first ever rustproofing.
Pretty satisfied, they seemed really professional, the owner runs a heavy diesel truck repair shop on the other side of the building and the rustproofing side does only that. I like that.
In and out in 50 minutes with the wash and and everything. Very affordable prices as well. New vehicle warranty they include unlimited kms for life as long as I get the application every year. Seems reasonable.
The rear fenders (or lack of) on my 06 ram are still fresh in my head so I said "See you next year!"

You sure about the warranty? It specifically says for new vehicles less than 6months old. Based on your signature yours is a 2006.

Do they have to drill holes into the truck to honor the warranty?

There are voids in several places though out the sheet metal.
For instance, on each side of the truck, there is the "B" pillars.
Our eyes can not see inside that void, but the bottom of that pillar is where the Pinch Weld is located.

Pinch Welds are the first place that vehicles rust out.
Drilling into that Pinch Weld area & then spraying a High Pressure OIL MIST into that void, helps to protect any untreated metal in the void.

Look at the 2 Hinges that hold the Doors in place, those bolts are fastened to Nuts that are located inside of Voids, those areas may or may not be treated with some kind of chemical during the building process

The Krown shops in Canada have been doing a great job forever.

There's been a couple Krown shops in the Buffalo NY area for 6-7yrs now. I used one on my 2017 Ram 1500 years ago and didn't care for the application they did at all. Too thin and sparse. After a few weeks there was little visual evidence of krown on the underside of the truck. Krown claims the magic is still there though..

After that I started DIY with fluid film and then woolwax. I use woolwax today.

yup dont doubt the drill lol. its the best way to get it in all the expensive knooks and crannies! after they put in a little black plug that looks oem.
i bet most average people could never tell you which plug the rustproofing goes in just by looking at the door side
the krown has a natural creeping action so it will go get down in those far away places but if you dont spray it in every hidden cavity the salt mist will start accumulating there

Did you have to step up the sprayer or compressor when you went to the WoolWax? TIA

If they drill the truck to rust proof it, does this impact the manufacturer's warranty in any which way?

Slowly finding out that things are different with a Chrysler/RAM (compared to Lexus).

I am a huge Krown proponent. my 19' has been sprayed 5 times already (3 x full vehicle and 2 x underbody) at a close family friends shop.

I even open up the fuse box and soak it, and all the connectors under it, too. Spray the alternator and the ECU, heck, the entire engine block & heads (top and bottom) and engine bay gets soaked.

Any rubber / plastic plugs in the frame get pulled and tossed and the frame interior gets soaked. Rear taillights are taken off and everything sprayed. Spare tire lowered and everything sprayed, including the spare rim, top and bottom.

As for the hole drilling. My shop uses a white grease and then mixes the liquid Krown spray oil to make a nice paste. After they drill the holes and spray they use a brush and schlock up the holes all over, inside and outside the openings, then use a quality plug to cap it, and then wipe any excess off.

I even have them use the small hand tool and spray the calipers and brake hubs, too. I have never had any rust on any vehicle I have had Krown sprayed in 20+ years using them, and never a CEL or vehicle issue after spraying the engine, fuses, alternator, etc.

If the shop is doing their job right and thoroughly applying the product, you'll never have issues.

The best time to spray is late spring to early summer so the product has an opportunity to thoroughly creep throughout the entire vehicle in the heat and do its job of protecting your truck.

it would possibly only affect the original corrosion warranty, which in Chryslers case is basically non existent (in my opinion, i dont trust them as far as i can throw them)
i would much rather take matters into my own hands and do everything possible to avoid rust in the first place

i know certain German cars at one time came with a 7 year no rust from inside out warranty and they specifically told you they already rust proofed it from the factory and to not do anything additional or else void warranty
but they have much better factory corrosion protection compared to American pick ups.
and still i would want to have it done myself if i was going to keep it for life!

Got it done a few weeks ago at Krown in Dorion.
Amazing job by them!! Way better than the shop on St-Jean.

And thanks for the tip for removing the spare tire :)

considering the current economic climate i have decided to krown myself this year. I just went and picked up a gallon of krown from my local place and im picking up a rodac gun and wand kit tonight

all together it will be equal or less expensive than one treatment and I should be able to treat some family and neighbors with the leftovers once I practice on my truck haha

will post photos here when i get it all set up!
