They certainly are looking for a skinny thief if he crawled under the car. Also young it would take me more than 2 minutes to crawl under a truck lol. Man I hate thieves. If/when a thief is caught they get a light sentence because it's not a "violent " crime.

I'm curious to know what computer module is accessible from underneath the car.
As far as I know, all modules are located inside the car,or high up in the engine bay

Yep, "just" a property crime. When I was on the cops we could not chase stolen cars, its "just" a property crime.

Article said something about broken glass on ground. I wonder if that was window of car and they got under dash and not under car as that seems impossible. Or it was inside being on show room floor and glass was from building? And they forgot they had fast forward view wile watching security video when they timed it at taking only 2 minutes.

We're going to a no chase policy on stolen cars next year due to a change at the state accreditation board level. It's nearly impossible to get a conviction on them anyway unless there's good video or a known witness who can testify to them taking it. Else "I bought it on Craigslist from sumdood 2 hours ago" = reasonable doubt = no conviction.

Fleeing gets charged, but cashless bond and non reporting probation so that really teaches them a lesson...

When society falls, kind of like these times we are seeing, I will wear my shirt.

There’s another story about 6 being stolen in 45 sec’s. I think in Florida . Inside job. They often know a tech or service writer. Thieves got my buddies 18 gmc 2500 with a cell phone app. In less than a min. On video . They pull the horn wires so no noise. Maybe that’s why they would get under the cars as well.
