Hi - First post here. Driving a 2015 Ram 1500 Laramie, no problems so far. Last week, a ABS warning light came on. Dash also says "service trailer brake" & "service brake system." Took it to local Dodge dealer today - I live on a small Hawaiian island and we don't have a lot of options out here. :)

Here's what they said on diagnostic report: "Connect to WITECH & check for DCTS. Found active ABS DTC C2200-49 antilock brake module internal electronic failure. Follow DTC flow chart. Inspect to see if hydraulic or electronic side were replaced individually; neither have been replaced. Inspect connectors & harness for damages, no problems found. Per flow chart need to replace ABS module and recheck."

They quoted $1500 for parts & labor to replace the ABS electronics.

Question to the forum - is this a reasonable quote? My only other repair option where I live is a local shop but now that I've spent $140 on diagnostics I'm not eager to repeat.

Thanks for any advice.

ABS warning lights are notorious for going away without issue, you should have posted here first and saved 140 bucks. How is it driving? Anyhow, even IF anti lock goes out and it still drives, not something you need to worry about. If the fluid is black I'd change it, easy to bleed do you do that? Technically you don't have to take off tires but it is much easier of you do.

What are your abilities? Can you say do your own brakes?

Looks like this is a known issue, so you may have to end up replacing it.

The module itself I think is under 300 bucks, I'd just unhook battery put a new one on and hook up battery and see what I got, but that's me. My old girl friend was from hawaii and we visited, so I know how f'd pricing and availability is there, sounds decent price considering.

Thanks...I don't have a lot of repair skills but the car is driving & braking fine. Seems like this should be covered under extended warranty if it's a known issue.

Braking system isn't covered by power train warranty, but if you have an extended warranty I would think it should be covered.

What did you end up doing? I have the same trim and issue on a 2014.
