And the price they quoted you is a lot worse than what they quoted me for fuel filters when they had my truck for a warranty job. They wanted $260 to replace both filters. I still did it myself.
I got raked for 600 on the fuel filters. Thank god for my ongoing health recovery that I will be able to do it myself next time.

Their oil, filter, and lube service combo special is very good for 12 qts of synthetic, $135 each when 2 are purchased. Incl safety inspection, tire rotation and pressure check

But check this gouging out....

Fuel filters $382.00
Air filter $91.23
Cabin ac filter $89.65

Huh?

I got a Mopar Cummins air filter on eBay for only $35
And a supply of very high quality cabin air filters for only $14 each!
Now, I have to study on how best to swap out the fuel filters so as not to make a mess, and insure the fuel pump gets primed before engine starting. Anyone know the best YouTube for that?
So, the dealer isn’t your only choice. There are independent garages, chain service centers, and you and your next door neighbor. You ought to check out the marketplace. By the way, some dealers will accept filters and oil you provide them and install them at a reasonable fee. Ever asked?

Good luck.

I don’t do service at dealerships anymore. Cheaper and easier to do it myself. Last service I had done at a dealership in North Fort Worth I waited 2 hrs with an appointment and they didn’t even use a MOPAR oil filter.

I can get a higher grade oil and filters from Amazon.

As a FORMER diesel owner, I'll simply say that these exorbitant costs are part of what drove me back to gasoline.
No reason to buy a diesel anymore unless you have a commercial application and/or consistently pull big tonnage over the highway. Only wish Dodge would upgrade the 6.4 and get up to 7 liters or so akin to Ford and GM. Preventive Maintenance costs much lower on gasser.

Genos garage sells all the filters at a cheaper price but they are costly. I don't know why Mopar sells them for so much? Same deal with my neighbor's 6.7 Powerstroke. Beware of E-Bay and Amazon imposter filter elements

My '07 5.9 isn't that expensive to maintain at all but these 07.5+ diesels of all three brands are expensive to own. If you don't need one don't buy one.

Just had my truck in to dealer for them to finish repairs done to my truck from previous year that they caused when they hit the door of the service bay when they pulled it in for an oil change. Only took them a year to complete and too many phone calls to count. While there they performed additional service and recalls. They didn't have the part for the engine fire hazard recall. They called me to tell me the air filter needed to be changed. I asked for estimate and they said $150 installed. I told them I'd take care of it myself ... but they ended up replacing free of charge for the trouble they had put me through the previous year. But at the time they called to give me the price I thought to myself ... hmmm, two filter changes and it pays for S&B cold air intake with cleanable filter. I had one on my previous truck so guess I'll be getting another.

Absolutely correct. When you find a good dealership, support them. Same with the independent garages. My neighbor own(ed) a local transmission shop before Covid shut him down. Never want to see that happen to a good shop again.

My dealership is happy to accept my fuel and oil filters on my '20 Eco (Mopar filters). There was a period of time during Covid where they couldn't get the proprietary oil filter. I found them (for less) and have been providing them since.

Ask questions - you might be surprised at how receptive the dealership is.

Different vehicle, back in 2010 we bought a used 2008 Audi a6 After a few months a headlight bulb went out and the dealer price to change the "Bulb" was $400 in 2010. I did it myself, but needed to take my laptop with Youtube on out with me while I worked on it. We kept it for a few years but got rid of it before something big went wrong with it. Nice car but it was a mechanical mess, way over engineered.

I got a Mopar oil filter from Car Quest, and bought the fuel filters on line. I don't know why their so expensive. J have a 2015 Cummins and it is messy changing the oil and fuel filters. Walmart has a pretty good price on Shell Rotella T5. I don't remember the price.

The oil and fuel filter jobs are complex and messy, for sure. I haven't done those myself (considering it, though). The cabin air filter is easy, though. I did that myself and saved $90. (Geno's Garage is great, and I really like my locking DEF and fuel caps!)

yea, but completely indicting Youtube for NOT being an excellent source of DIY info? because it is. the VIEWER has to be intelligent enough to discern that sometimes the content watched is completely idiotic and NOT the right recommendation for their particular project. and if they aren't intelligent enough to figure that out, they're probably always destroying/ruining things anyway, even without Youtube's help. what I'm saying is ultimately the viewer has to be the screener of the content's quality, YouTube isn't doing it. just my 2 cents. :)

(one year I would have never attempted/replaced the rear glass window regulator motor in my BRONCO without some Youtube tech recommendations. that big regulator back there is incredibly DANGEROUS. and Youtube content clearly and visually prepared me for that serious hazard, maybe more so that a Chilton's guide could have ever done. Youtube can be a success :))
