If dog years are 7, what are truck years?
The concept of "dog years" is often used as a rough estimation to compare the age of dogs to humans, assuming that one dog year is equivalent to seven human years. However, the idea of "truck years" isn't a commonly recognized concept like dog years. Trucks, unlike dogs, don't have a specific lifespan or aging process that can be directly equated to human years.

Truck longevity and lifespan can vary greatly depending on various factors such as maintenance, usage, and overall care. It's more appropriate to consider a truck's age in terms of mileage, maintenance history, and overall condition rather than trying to assign it a specific conversion to human years.

What would you use any of them for?

This thread is sooooooo long.
If I was running Redline continuously, I wouldn't have a reason to use these additives. Redline 5W30 is practically the perfect oil for the Hemi with all the requirements. IMO.
However there are some users that can say the same about other oils like Mobil1 0W40 and PUP 0W40 (which was designed for the Hellcat engines). Some even swear by Castrol Edge 0W40, 5w40 5w30.
The thing is that while these are so readily available for you guys in the North American continent, it is not for us here in Middle East. Sure, we can get some stuff, but price is always higher than what you would pay in the US or Canada.
Hence finding alternatives that are so easily available for any market is the goal. That in part is one of the reasons why the thread is so long. With the numerous oil brands, options and additives out there, it is good to have a serious discussion.
It's all part of the learning curve. The more knowledge that is present here, the better. I know that there are those who might call this thread a large pile of misinformation, but I don't even consider that the case.

I figured it out.

Truck years are determined by average mileage per year, so if 15,000 is an average miles per year, then a truck with 170,000 miles average life expectancy is 11 1/3rd years as long as Red Line 5w/30 and an Royal Purple 20-820 has been used ~ 5000 miles oci.

Dang if that doesn't sound convincing, lol.

Unless I hit the lotto, I'm driving my last truck, and if I am lucky, I will need it for another 20 years. So I hope my truck outlives my past dogs because none of them made it 30 plus years.

Meet Bobi, the official GB world record holder by over 7-8 years of his closest competitor, this dog is/was over 30 years old. Man what a sweet looking dog and he made it 30, wow on that deal.

dog.jpg

Cool story he is still alive and is now 31, cool story here.

Bobi was born as one of four male puppies in an outbuilding where his caretaker's family stored wood. His brothers were all buried alive after birth due to Costa's father not wanting to take care of more animals. Since Bobi blended in with the wood at birth, Costa's father did not see him when he was collecting the puppies to bury. Now that doggy is a survivor for real, lived for all his brothers who were F'd at birth.

Bobi the woodpile dog. Not quite the drama but my truck passed the drive through test yesterday and is whisper quiet 12 years in. I don't know what Bobi's diet is, but I know what my rams diet is.

Which tap and die, Gear wrench is on sale as well. 77 piece sae and metric 118 bucks, and check out the t bar ratchet. Some of this guys stuff is hokey, but this vid is killer for tap and die. I think he kniows better but some of his cuts he didnt back out, which I guess for some reason was part of the test. You should back off for ever turn back out a 1/4 turn to remove chips.

Hard to say these days, as so many "respected names" from the past have changed hands, and/or turned into Chinesium garbage. My sets are from the early 80's, when we were a True Value dealer, and their Master Mechanic sets were made by Vermont American. They have served me well. I don't buy from Hobo Freight.

94% 4 star or above on that gear wrench with over 4,000 reviews, it has to be an ok set my thought. For my use as well, pretty limited these days, just good to have on hand and a fun man toy to have.

I think Gearwrench is legit' for sure. I have also found that in most repair situations, I use my thread chaser/ thread repair set more frequently than ordinary taps and dies.

i dont know what that is, can you expand on that? have a good brand? so it repairs threads instead of cutting new ones?
