So today i went out to do a few errands and hit the remote start,it made a super quick attempt then not a thing...
Dash lights up but as soon as key is turned it all goes dark...Other than trying a boost(seems my battery connections are all clean)and i do have a diablo ecu and tuner in it and original battery...I do get a netural related code every so often where truck will not go into park when i turn the dial knob to do so(code 232a)and it shuts off right away with key still on..

Im guessing the battery finally bit the bullet but any other thoughts before i go hunting for the issue come this weekend??

Oh and when locking with the fob the horn is weak as hell.

Your original vehicle battery is 10 years old and you’re asking what could be the problem?

I have never heard of a battery lasting 10 years. By then, a lot of of the lead on the plates will have fallen to the bottom of the battery, and shorted out the battery. You must start with a new battery, before you can starting any kind of diagnosis. And yes, it would happen all at once.

I have a 2016 Ram and just replaced the original battery in December. I was amazed it lasted that long. On the other hand, I also have a '25 ram that the battery gave up it's ghost after 9k miles.

Optima red top 920’s are the only batteries I’ve got 10-13 yrs out of. I once got 8yrs out of a carquest battery. But that was 20yrs ago. 10yrs from an oem battery . Wow you might be the 1st to do that. Only got 5 out my mine from 04

I changed the original in my 2014 April 2025, it was giving signs that it was getting tired,
I put a load tester on it and the needle did a nose dive into hell no and it needed a booster to start it after that.
I was kind of perturbed it only lasted 10 yrs.
it does live in the garage most of the time.

These are classic signs of a dead battery. Simple check is to see if it will start with a jump or boost. If so the battery was low. Could be from being drained or just age....and of course if it's 10 years old it is pretty safe to say the battery is just old.

Damn, 10 years, that's wild.

Here in FL, the most I ever had one last was 6-1/2 years, and that was 20 years ago (or more), was a Sears DieHard.

I've never had a Mopar battery last for more than 14 months in any of the Rams I have owned. I've had much better luck with Autozone batteries. Usually get 4-5 years out of those. I have a Duracell AGM in my truck now. Had it for 1.5 years now and no problems.

You guys just need to get out of all that heat,
-30 is why we have good life span on the battery's here,
and we don't need the AC on all the time. :D
