Mine came in the mail yesterday. I ordered the kit from the Doug guy on eBay and it came key fast. I put mine in this morning with no trouble other than to get the harness plugs apart. Pried it with a small screw driver. I broke my hand at work so I'm in a half cast, yeah that didn't help. Anyways, no trouble at all with the clock or anything. Went in so easy I thought I did something wrong lol. Whoever hasn't done this mod, get r done!

I didn't see anyone post this in any of the 15 pages of messages on this topic but when you hit the lock three times I expected it to start right away and it doesn't. Give it about 10 seconds, it will start.
I haven't done the good safety switch but that's s good idea. I'll get around to it when my hand feels better.

I'm actually glad it does that. I've gotten in the habit of doing that when I start my truck, turning it to on for a few seconds and then starting. The truck seems to start better and more smoothly for some reason.

I just put mine in so I haven't noticed a beep but I did notice a red dot light on the bottom right of my dash that lights up. You have that?

Yeah, I get that when I insert the key and turn it on. It goes away after a second or two.

Sometimes, I wish that were the case. Maybe I'll have a CTD when I grow up.

I don't think I get the extra beep, but I do get the light as mentioned above.

When you stop your engine the oils settle in the motor. Giving it time to run in idle speed, when you restart the motor, circulates the oil throughout the motor and actually causes less friction wear. It's better for your motor and feels smooth because the oils are doing their job.

I'm seriously contemplating tearing out my factory starter and installing one of these in my truck.. This damn factory starter doesn't work right half the time. The truck starts, then quits seconds later. Repeats 4x then shuts down completely..

I've been having the same problems with mine plus a few other. Just ordered my dball today! Can't wait to rip out the old one and put this in. Does anyone know how to add the start by phone feature? Does it just require adding the smart start box?

For the start by phone you need to add the Smart Start module. I want to add the smart start to mine eventually, but it's around $200 from what I've seen.

cost aside, which is a better remote start set up.... the dball or the factory mopar? i wouldnt mind spending the extra $200 if its a better set up, but it looks like all i would gain is 2 extra keys and not having to hear the horn 3 times before it starts.

If you can get factory remote start with the button on the same key fob thats your best bet.

The benefit to the factory one is if you start it and its cold out i believe the heat will turn on, and vice versa if its hot out

The DBALL works exactly like the factory remote start except it only costs like $55-$60 without the plug-n-play T-harness which is another $25-$30.

I say works just like factory because it starts the truck, and heats, cools, or defrosts as long as you have those turned on when you leave the truck.

The only difference between the factory one and the DBALL is with the DBALL, you use your existing door remote and press the lock button 3 times to start the truck. With the factory one you get new factory remotes that have a start button.

The factory one also has to be flashed by the dealer and the DBALL is plug-n-play.

I bought the T-harness and the install was literally plug it in, program it to the truck with a couple of button presses and zip-tie it under the dash. It all of 10 minutes and I was done.

It was great getting into a nice warm truck all winter.

If you have the automatic climate control and factory remote then it will enable the heat, ac, heated seat and heated wheel depending on the temp outside. Amazing.

Ahhh, I didn't realize it did that with automatic climate control. But on the other hand, I wonder if the DBALL would do that also. I mean is it a function of the remote start module itself (which I doubt) or just that when the truck is running the climate controls are on and work? Similarly that the manual heat and AC work if the truck is running with the DBALL.

It must be flashed into the computer as when you start with factory remote it will not even show the display on the climate control and you could have it set completely wrong and it decides. I.e. set to hot but cold is needed. Pretty crazy really.
