Hey Guys. I have seen a few posts about this and even some You-Tube videos on trucks 2011-2013. But I haven't seen any answers. Dealer ship isn't sure either.
2013 Ram 4x4 Laramie stock exhaust, 3K miles. I was under the truck and had my wife revving the truck and I have isolated the noise to be in the passenger Rear. I have check all the bolts on exhaust and heat shields and nothing appears loose. Sound like a broken muffler weld or cat issue.

This is not my truck, just a video I found on you tube doing the exact same thing.
Anyone had this experience?

could be cat. if you have a cracked cat it could be the ceramic cat material rolling around in your exhaust somewhere.

Could be a rock in the heat shield on the resonator. Also saw a post about this a while back, guy said his manifold was loose. My truck does the same thing, cats are good, all bolts are good (havent checked the manifolds yet, dont have time) and no rocks.

You know.... I noticed that sound too... its not affecting my performance...and not all the time. It only happens when I punch it and I hit the higher rpm levels....it doesn't happen on the lower end. Sounds like something rattling in there.

I know this is old, but I just fixed my rattle. Mine was coming from a clamp on top of the u-bolt that's just after the y-pipe. Found it tapping around with a rubber mallet. Put some exhaust sealer on it and waiting for it to dry right now.

^^ that is exactly right. I had this rattle for a year before I saw a thread about what it was. All you have to do is take a flathead and bend the little L bracket upwards. The vibration at certain higher rpm will cause it to vibrate against the exhaust clamp. I have a few pics if anyone needs them.

Yep, had the same problem on mine and found a thread regarding it. The tab apparently is for assembly during the manufacturing process and serves no purpose.

Well, I finally got back on here and looked for the pics, and it seems I deleted them from my photobucket. But, it is at the first exhaust clamp after the y-pipe. It is a thin little c-clamp looking clip that is tack welded on the back and hanging free on the front. Just stick a flat head in between it and bend it up.

Rattle sound in exhaust at 1500 to 3000 rpm

The dealer had my truck for 2 days . Replaced the muffler.. With no luck. So I came home and googled rattling noise 2013 ram in exhaust ... Bingo found this forum... I read this thread. Went out to the garage with a screw driver and bent up the tab on top of the first clamp after the y pipe . ( It's a little hard to see cause its on top of the exhaust pipe). And noise is gone...! Thanks

I️ don’t know if mine is the same issue, but I️ just noticed with my new muffler, when I️ stomp it, at a certain RPM it sounds like a baby rattle. I️ have long tubes no cats into a carven R series
