    Curious how all this turns out for you. Especially the sub. I'm in the process of colleting parts to do something similar. Going to put the Kicker 8" sub in the stock Alpine box with a dedicated amp. Already have an aftermarket head unit. Planning to leave the speakers alone.

    Yes i am running the Alpine system currently minus a head unit. Was planning to run a separate amp for the sub and keep the speakers wired to the head unit. May have to just speak with a local store to get this all sorted properly.

    I tow with a 2/3 GF kit and 2wd front spindles on my 4x4. Airlift bags and a rear sway bar is a must. Our trailer is about the same weight as you. Have been running this for 5 ish years now and never an issue.
