    Lifter cam swap PARTS

bought a kit off of Jay Greene a couple of years back. Did timing chain/tensioner and water/oil pumps too. Only thing I regret not doing at the same time as install was valve seals.

    Quad Headlight Project- Tips/Tricks?

After going down a YouTube rabbit hole, I've come to this conclusion too. Will need to diagnose a bit more and swap out any part that's not working. The one headlight thing is very annoying.

Finally, upgrading my factory audio (Keep it simple, stoopid!)

Nice, hope you enjoyed the month off. I'm off for the next 2 weeks so my sub/amp install will need to wait. Thanks for the reply. Was going to try and find a rubber grommet to fit in those holes but if tape did the trick maybe I'm over thinking it.

    Quad Headlight Project- Tips/Tricks?

Bringing this back from the dead to see if someone else can help with an issue I've been having with one of the headlights. The passenger side headlight (low beam) has been finicky. Doesn't turn on all the time. Seems to just work when ever it wants. I'm basically driving around with a burnt...

Finally, upgrading my factory audio (Keep it simple, stoopid!)

Thanks for documenting this so well with pics and all. A few questions for you. 1- When hooking up the sub to the amp what did you use to block off the hole where the wires are ran? I'll be pulling the factory connectors and running speaker wire. Assuming you did the same? 2- What did you do...

PUP on sale at Canadian Tire

Haven't been doing LubeGard, maybe i should look into this. The truck is still burning oil (1L per tank of gas) and I cant see myself dealing with the valve seals in the near future. We ended up moving back in April so most of my truck mods have stalled while we handled the move. Now I'm...

Stock Alpine Subwoofer Replacement - 2022 Edition

Really cool to see you are doing a similar upgrade. If time allows I hope to tackle my sub/amp install next week. Glad you like the results.

Stock Alpine Subwoofer Replacement - 2022 Edition

Nicely timed bump. Have the Sub and Amp sitting in the garage waiting on install. Ended up moving to a different place and getting time for this stuff has proven difficult. Will update when I have more to share.

    2012 Ram Excessive Oil Consumption

Appreciate it. Since swapping out my cam the trucks been going through oil. I kick myself for not doing valve seals at the same time.

    2012 Ram Excessive Oil Consumption

What's the job like to replace these? I truly think I'm in the same boat. Will need to pull plugs and do a compression test come spring to confirm.

    Check your intake manifold bolts

Will be checking mine soon too.

    2012 Ram Excessive Oil Consumption

Also interested. Last summer/fall mine was using at least a half liter of oil every tank of gas. Blows blue out of the exhaust on start up. Did replace the PCV and it didn't seem to help. I fear it might be time for valve seals on mine. Truck hasn't moved since November and I plan to wake...

2013 Alpine upgrade Jl Audio woofer and speakers

Curious how all this turns out for you. Especially the sub. I'm in the process of colleting parts to do something similar. Going to put the Kicker 8" sub in the stock Alpine box with a dedicated amp. Already have an aftermarket head unit. Planning to leave the speakers alone.

Stock Alpine Subwoofer Replacement - 2022 Edition

Yes i am running the Alpine system currently minus a head unit. Was planning to run a separate amp for the sub and keep the speakers wired to the head unit. May have to just speak with a local store to get this all sorted properly.

Stock Alpine Subwoofer Replacement - 2022 Edition

Awesome. I'm looking at doing this in the next couple of weeks too. Liking the shallow sub so i can maintain the back seat height. Already covered the box with sound deadner and filled it with polyfill for use with the stock alpine sub. Questions 1- for those that have done this, are you...

    Alpine system speaker upgrade

Also interested in an update. Looking at going with a similar sub in the factory box. already got a Pioneer head unit so hopefully with an amp for the sub should make things perfect.

    Oil burn

Wanted to bump this thread. Currently burning oil in my 5.7. 174,XXXkm on the engine. Typically I only see smoke on start up. I'm down about 1-1.5 L every tank of gas... roughly 400-500km. Thinking i should start with a PCV valve check/clean/replace and go from there. Should note that my...

    Camshaft swap, ShitBox Edition.

Friday is date night with the wife so i likely wont make it. If weather works out maybe next week. Didn't get the filter mounted yet. Haven't been able to get to Mopac for the new fittings.

    Camshaft swap, ShitBox Edition.

Nice. Had read that years back. I thought it was harder than that for some reason. Happy to see the catch can is in the original location and its just basically putting in 2 fittings.

    Camshaft swap, ShitBox Edition.

Awesome. Interested to know what's involved to get the catch can to work? When I'm able to find one of these intakes my plan is to plumb one in too.

Who tows with their lowered quad cab 4x4?

I tow with a 2/3 GF kit and 2wd front spindles on my 4x4. Airlift bags and a rear sway bar is a must. Our trailer is about the same weight as you. Have been running this for 5 ish years now and never an issue.
