2018 PW DIY Upgrades and Fixes

Sliders are on the list for sooner than later… already had a log come up from under the wheel and wedged itself between rocker and nerf bar… brutal. Luckily my spotter caught it and the damage was minimal but there’s still a reminder there for me to look at… smh

I hear ya - “Clifford” is my daily, too. You got a great setup, looks like it’s been built out over the years and getting optimized for your needs. Is there a reason you did a tire carrier off the back? From what I’ve read, the 35 can still stuff into the stock location with a bit of wiggle and...

2018 PW DIY Upgrades and Fixes

Yes, quite fortunate to have trails out my front door and all around. I’ve been wheeling here for 15 years and still find new places to explore, it’s incredible. Probably aiming more towards overland style, if I was to categorize it… I use the truck on our acreage and for work around the...

Nice rig! I’m out in the Okanagan area of BC. Rock sliders are on the list along with some 35’s… I’ve been told about the winch control relocation before in this thread… you’ve got some other good ideas I’ll have to dive into!

2018 PW DIY Upgrades and Fixes

I bought the truck with some cheap Nexen AT tires on it and thought they may play some part in the vibration… did a tire rotation and bead reseat which seemed to help a good bit but I’ll be looking to get some 35” Toyo AT3 on there before winter 2024… how you liking the Falken? I’ve heard good...

New bulbs are in, happy with the results for the price compared to other companies that sell just one set of bulbs for $200. The truck looks quite a bit nicer / cleaner / updated over the standard halogens that have that tired yellow tinge. New bulbs have good cut off and aren’t scattered all...

Drag link recall "How Ram Handles it"

I sent a message a few weeks back, never got a reply. Just called in and was denied due to the recall being already completed within their spec - welded the old one. FCA is garbage up here in Canada. For what the part and the reputation is worth, you’d think they’d do a bit more than what I’ve...

    Drag Link - Beating a Dead Horse…

Well, they were less than helpful! “Your recall has been repaired within spec (welded), and therefore not eligible to have the part replaced” I’ve dealt with them before on an issue with my Jeep where the transmission would go into limp mode and although they got a scan on it and had it all...

    Drag Link - Beating a Dead Horse…

I have not tried calling - posted this thread for that exact kind of advice. Just started trying to get this sorted, so that’ll be my next step… see where that takes me. Thanks!

    Drag Link - Beating a Dead Horse…

No offense taken! That’s a good point, but I just started down this path and if it’s proving to be a PITA then I’ll switch gears but figured if I can get a new/redesigned OEM part for free and installed for free then why not take them up on it.

    Drag Link - Beating a Dead Horse…

Is there another way to get in touch with @RamCares ? I’d sent off a message a couple weeks back asking if they could help me up in Canada with this drag link recall but haven’t heard back. I went to the dealership and asked to start a claim on getting a new link put in but they stated the...

ram forum please educate me on some oem replacement bulbs

Took the plunge on LED bulbs. The halogens were pathetic to say the least. I couldn’t stomach the $200+ price for a set of 2 bulbs so I opted to hunt for a few days until I found a good option from SEALIGHT. Got some yellows for the fog lights, cool white for the high beam and projector low...

The connector socket in the front bumper or is there something else you’re referring to on the winch itself? I was just replying to another post that I took the plug assembly apart after finding a pin rotted… that included rewiring, sealing it up on the back end, then packing with grease.

I pulled my cable out and looked it over before neatly laying it back on the spool. Although spooning it up became a job because that’s when I realized one of the pins in the connector was rotted so I had to do some electrical work there before packing the socket full of dielectric grease.

2018 PW DIY Upgrades and Fixes

I was aware of the drag link recall and was about to go down the path of getting a new one from the dealer to replace the weld job they had already done to call it done… Is there something similar with the track bar?

66RFE Sonnax Thermal Bypass Eliminator Kit

Absolutely. Avoid dealership at all cost… I’d use a shop for setting up new gears in the diffs etc., but I’m tooled up and capable of most anything else. Plus I got two young boys that follow me around like shadows and are more than happy to learn and help… it only extends the job completion...

66RFE Sonnax Thermal Bypass Eliminator Kit

The warranty on the truck is third party so I may inquire to see if a certified shop can diagnose or fix issues instead of the dealer. There’s a few good shops in town I’d love to use if I could.

… genius. I feel dumb, haha thank you! Side note - your posts regarding oils are gospel.

66RFE Sonnax Thermal Bypass Eliminator Kit

No doubt at all that the OEM unit is garbage and not needed. I guess my big hesitation lies with the warranty person saying otherwise… any loophole they can find, they’ll use it. I had them try to reject a warranty on my Jeep because I had a more aggressive tread on the new tires and they were...
