    Were my intake manifold bolts loose? The answer has arrived!!

    Had oil staining on the top of my 2014 that just clicked over 100k milke. I'd been blaming it on leaking valve cover gaskets until I learned of the loose intake manifold bolts. Checked today (heat index at 101-degrees mind you) & all 10 were very loose. Tightened all back to 108 in-lb.

I'll have the AC on (not in auto) ... doesn't seem to really matter the specific settings ... and, the fan "noise" will be what you'd expect with outside air...

    First oil change

    I stick a cooking pan that's shaped sort of like you'd cook a meat loaf in under the filter ... fits just right in there. Then, I loosen the filter & let it all drop in the pan - pulling the pan, oil, & filter out all at once after its done. Been pretty successful for me so far.

    Trash in paint

    2014 here ... same thing. Trash = dust/dirt/grit in paint during either the base coat or clear coat. Turns up looking like there is a piece of sand in the paint. Should be unheard of these days ... especially on a $50k plus truck.
