When I bought the truck about a year ago, it had a muffler delete already on it. At first it didn't bother me, but now I'm just sick of the drone and figured getting as close to stock would solve this
Do you tow at all? Right now, my truck drones like crazy around 15-18k rpms or when I step on the throttle while pulling a trailer up a hill... do you think the 18" will drone in this rpm band, or should I go with the 24"?
Any help is appreciated! I've got a 2016 2500 tradesman with the 5.7 and I'm looking for a muffler as close to OEM as possible. It's a single 3 inch exhaust. I'd like to go with a Walker, but can't find one that fits my specific truck. Most of the online catalogs I've looked at don't list...
Instead of a muffler, I opted for a muffler delete and the only drone I have is at the 1500-1800 rpm range. Would installing a 12-16" resonator get rid of the drone but keep the deep tone?
Thank you for the info. I am considering running the PUP 0w40 since it has the extra moly over the 5w30 and wanted to know if it would harm the engine... which it doesn't sound like it would
What's the general consensus on oil weight? Is 5w-30 the gold standard, or is it more up in the air? In my research, I've found that most people with the 5.7 run 5w-30 whereas the 6.4's run 0w-40 exclusively. Is there really that much of a difference between the two that you couldn't run either...
My Ram has 90,000 miles on it... The truck was new to me when I got it with 60k and all previous oil changes have been through the dealer using the Mopar brand oil. Would using Redline 5w-30 give me any problems at my current mileage?
I've got a 2016 2500 5.7. Is the coolant overflow tank the same thing as a coolant recovery tank? Looking at using RMI-25 and it says that rust and all the other crud will end up in the recovery tank. What's the best way to remove any floating gunk?
