I had the same issue with my 2017. Went 2 years and couldn't figure it out. Nothing in AlphaOBD would correct it. Talked to Alpharex reps twice at SEMA and they couldn't help. Finally got a good tech from Alpharex on Facebook messenger and he immeditately sent me a set of resistors to...
I havne't tried yet. I did find a good YouTube video on there. Looks like there is no quick fix, you basically have to go in and reset/fix/clear error codes that pop up as a result of the tire size change.
@RamDiver you have any experience changing tire size on Alfa? I got to it and entered my new circumference, but it wouldn’t take. Gave me an error that I need to run ABS Initialization through ABS Diagnostics
When I bought the truck (in the US), they put an extended warranty on it, in case the FCA warranty gets rejected. They said some dealers can use the FCA warranty, some can't. Either way, extended warranty is 5 years, 100K miles.
@RamDiver I followed your instructions in posts 8/12. I didn’t change the country code bc of the warranty questions, but the other 3 changes were enough. Only signature lights on for DRLs in ‘Auto’ mode on my headlight switch.
Thank you, everyone, for your help.
@mtnmjd I have read that people have rusting issues with the FlowMaster FX. Have you experienced it? I had FlowMaster on my 2017 and absolutely loved the sound. Just worried about the reviews of corrosion with th FX if I put in on my '22.
@Jimmy07 @85octane I am in the US and just bought a 2022 Sport out of Canada. I want to disable the low beam DRL's and only use the signature lights as DRL's. If I make changes with AlfaOBD, will I also need a new headlight switch? Current switch is like mentioned above, with no 'off' setting.
No worries on the misread. Good info on the cables. Thank you.
So...with the Canadian truck. I did ask the dealer and he said it is hit or miss as to whether a US dealer can use the warranty. But my particular dealer adds in an extended warranty to the sale so that the truck is covered...
I greatly appreciate all the info and help from everyone. It's part of the reason I joined this forum.
Sounds like I just need to make sure that my gateway is beside/behind the OBDii.
Hopefull the last question...if I go with the 12+8 cable that I posted, can I leave it it as long as I don't...
Thank you. I think this is starting to make more sense. I also have the OBDLink SX. If I am understanding correctly, I am not going to connect to the trucks OBDii port, rather hook the 12+8 style cable to the truck, then my OBDLink SX cable hooks to the other end of the 12+8?
The cable below...
@CanRebel Thank you! Yes, when I say cable, I mean USB to OBD. I don't have the set up for wireless to my phone or tablet.
I found a simple 12+8 adapter on Amazon that should connect my USB OBD cable to the truck. So it sounds like I should be all set.
Looking for some help from the Alfa OBD guru's, please. I will admit that I only half ass searched for info, but didn't see what I specifically need.
I just traded my 2017 1500 BigHorn for a 2022 1500 Sport (out of Canada). I bought Alfa OBD and have it installed on a laptop with the...
I've been off for a while, but wanted to get back on and let everyone know that I finally was able to clear the codes. I was at SEMA 2021 and spoke to a bunch of techs. One of them was the guy that I spoke to at SEMA 2019 and the reason I went with AR. He gave me his card, asked that I...
Does anyone know if AR was able to get their hands on a truck with the error code? I'm really curious to see if they can figure this out. Believe it or not, my error code has gotten worse. I wouldn't think it would matter, but since weather has cooled and my heated seats and steering wheel...
I get the Parking Light Out error and can't clear it with AlfaOBD. Its something with the voltage because I only get it when the headlights are on and I use a turn signal or high beams. It will come on, then clear, then on, then clear. Super annoying. AlpahRex was no help. When AlfaOBD LED...
I'm having a problem with mine throwing the Park Light Out error. Mine is both sides, with parking or headlights on...and sometimes if I have high beams on with no directional. AlphaRex has tried to help, but their suggestions haven't worked. I think you have the G2's, same as I do. They...
OK...I'll give that a try. It will be tomorrow...we are in the middle of a snowstorm right now and the wifes car pulled garage priority. lol
Thanks, guys...I'll let you know what I learn. I'll make settings, give the truck plenty of time to set, then I'll read the System ID to make sure...
@chrisbh17 I forgot to mention...aside from the DRL voltage setting, I did try to leave the marker voltage at 12.2 with the others at settings you mentioned and HID not set, but still got error. I do think we are going down the right path with voltage settings, just don't know where to go...
