If I remove the sensors and solenoids to replace the o-rings will the engine cam/crank variation need to be relearn by performing a scan tool procedure after repair?
I have a 2011 Ram heavy duty with 5.7 hemi. I just changed my water pump for a shaft seal leak. I changed the thermostat and replaced the antifreeze. My digital water temp fluctuated between 195 and 205 before i did this change and it still does now. I have checked the reservoir level several...
Are there any marks on the back of the cab which would indicate it was hit from the rear and pushed forward. My Dakota was rear ended and the bed hit the cab. A frame shop pulled the frame straight within 1/8 of an inch but I could still see a slight wrinkle on the left side of the box. Also...
I keep a floor jack and four way in my WeatherGuard truck box. It is a whole lot easier to use, plus I had a flat on my utility trailer which made that tire change easy too.
I use a Wagner platform. I am not near it but i think it is about 42 inches long and 24 inches tall and you can lock the legs so it will not collapse during use. They are not expensive and light weight. You can buy them at Lowe's, Home Depot or wherever Wagner products are sold.
I put 4 Michelin Defender LTX M/S on my 2011 RAM 2500 Crew Cab Hemi last year and have put about 8000 miles on them so far. They still look like new and have seen no wear. I have used Michelin tires on my pickups for many years and have always got good service out the them.
My 2011 2500 4 door crew cab 2 wheel drive 5.7 hemi calls for a LZFR5C-11G spark plug with a 1.1 mm (.043 in.) gap and a torque of 13 (+ or - 2) foot pounds according to my service manual thumb drive which I purchased from MOPAR Tech Authority. I have replaced my own plugs and with that...
I like my UPR catch can but not their hoses and their installation instructions are not very good. My can is not labeled for in and out but I looked up the design of the UPR catch can and figured it out. Proper installation shows the inlet and outlet hoses cross each other. The inlet is the open...
I have a 2011 2500 heavy duty four door with a 5.7 hemi. I bought and installed the UPR Products.com catch can. Their installation instructions are poor so I went to U-Tube and watch several installation videos. I used the lower bolt hole on the front of my engine so it would not interfere with...
I like them both ways but if the tire I chose has white letters, i.e. Michelin, I want to see them so they are out. If you scrap a curb get out the white grease marker and color them in.
If it is leaking as bad as you indicated adding a Bars leak type of substance is not going to help. Do a compression check and see if you can figure out where the leak is. Get someone to help you and listen for air escaping. I would drain the anti-freeze and don't start the engine but turn it...
I became a Dodge follower back in the late 60's when I was a mechanic for a dealership. We worked on all types of vehicles and I found Dodge and Plymouth were the easiest to work on and then Chevy. The Fords were a pain in the a..... If I could build a perfect vehicle it would probably be a...
Never have had a problem with dielectric grease. I have experienced tearing up plug wires that were stuck on the tip of plugs that did not have grease on them. I think the same would be true with coil packs on a hemi. It appears the consensus is that on my 2011 5.7 Hemi I need to stick with the...
A family member that has been in the business for more than 40 years told me not to change the trans fluid unless absolutely necessary. New fluid is hard on the clutches. Better to put back in the old fluid if you still have it and like radiator fluid for these vehicles now days you must use the...
I have a 2011 2500 crew cab with 17 inch wheels. They are Black Rhino Sierras and require 135 foot pounds of torque to secure the lugs nuts. I carry a half inch breaker bar and the 21 in impact socket needed to break them loose and to tighten them. If I have to change a tire along the rode, I...
Little hard to see over the hood in the future and it will be hard to hook another trailer on that hitch. And it may overheat going down the road, especially in the summertime.
My 2011 RAM 5.7 Hemi gets an oil change every 5000 miles and I use synthetic oil and filter. On top of that I do my own work so I know it is done right.
