Stock with about 23,000 miles on it and probably a couple hundred pounds worth of tools. These 2500's got some weight to them vs the 1500. 4.10s in mine would just = more tire spin.
I am up in the Shrevport/Bossier area. Getting ready for this 82 degree Christmas day. Crazy Southern weather. :33:
That is pretty good for a heavy 3500 LB gasser. I might be able to pull a 14.9 Stock if I launched hard in 4WD and some good DA. I need this truck for my work/business though. Don't want to tear it up.
Finally got around to testing the truck on the big tires. 20,000 miles later, so the tires were not quite as grippy, but still better than stock Firestones.

I actually pulled a best of 15.7, but didn't get video. That is the same time my 2020 1500 V6 ran, but with a slightly lower trap speed.
The 2500 could probably pull some low 15s with traction. I didn't buy it to be a race truck, but just wanted to know what it would do. A blower would sure be...
I sold my 2020 1500 to Carvana for $4,000 more than I paid for it and put it towards a 2021 2500 Tradesman with 3.73 rear end.
When I searched google, I couldn't really find any performance stats for the 6.4. So I wanted to do a test before I put the 35s on. Here are the results on the horrible...
Yeah the local dealer is trying to sell me on a 14k 14LD, which is more heavy duty for only a few hundred dollars more and only a few hundred pounds extra empty weight. If I only haul a 2-3 tons I should be good, given the weight ratings of my truck and take it easy.
Thanks for the info!
We are in a pretty flat area, so I think I'll be alright. I'm actually thinking about stepping up to the 10k 6x12 Big Tex 90SR with ramps and keeping it under 7k loaded. That way I can haul my B3300SU tractor as well. Then once I get my 2500 truck in about 6 months I can...
Dedication! Sounds like you got a keeper for sure.
I have two little tikes right now, so when I am not working I try to give them as much time as I can. Maybe when they get in their teens and don't want to hang out with me anymore I'll get something fast again. Lol
Just so ya'll know I'm not...
Its a bare bones 2wd that I picked up for $19,500 at the peak of COVID lock downs.
Could probably get all my money back on trade for a 2500, but got to watch my finances until the new house is finished.
Yes sir. That's why I am saying it seems only limitation is gearing/power. So I'm about to put this little V6 to work and try to make some $$$ to put towards a big boy truck.
I went with a Gator EFX hard cover on my new truck. Set me back about 3x the cost of the soft cover I had on my old truck. I wanted something a little more secure and hopefully hold up better. Thought about a camper shell, but to much $$$. This was a good in between for the price.
It's...
Payload is rated at 1907lb. I will be riding solo for deliveries, so -200lb, 100lbs for gear/tools, still leaves me at 1607lbs. I have only pulled about 3000lbs in my 5x8 trailer and it had no issue. 305hp is where most V8s were not too long ago, granted the 6 is not a torquey.
My main concern...
All these 1500s are on the same chassis and apparently the same GVWR, so from a safety standpoint there should be no problem. It just may put more wear and tear on the engine and trans.
So I should be good if I get pulled over by LEO right?
So I have a 2020 Classic V6 with 3.21 gear. It is rated at 1907lb payload, 4957lb towing capacity. For reference, this guy had no trouble hauling nearly 9000lbs with the same exact truck
I would like to pull a 7000lb GVWR 5x10 dump trailer and do it legally. The same truck as mine with a 3.55...
Modern V8 cars making 700+HP from the factory and 300+ V6. Great time to be alive!
I live in the boonies. The only thing I worry about at triple digit speeds is hitting a hog or deer. I hit 3 deer with my 2014 Hemi Truck. Amazingly no damage to the truck, but a direct hit at 100mph would be...
Did a little 0-60 + 1/4 mile testing with the Dragy. Not great, but not terrible for what it is. Seemed like it would bog off the line a little. It feels like some tq management or ESC is holding it back off the line and below 15mph. I really thought it would be closer to what my truck ran.
If it has been sitting that long with any sort of ethanol based fuel, then it's probably gone bad. As others have stated, drain the tank and put some fresh fuel in it.
I use Lucas ethanol treatment/stabilizer in all my lawn equipment and portable generator. Never had an issue. It's recommended...
