    Thuren coil height help

My 3500 has 35" ko2s and thurens .5" all around. I did the full kit including bump stops, track bars, sway bar and steering damper. Attached are before, after, and towing with ~1000lbs of tongue weight. It's hard to tell from the angle of the photo but it still has a smidge of rake. I wouldn't...

Hey guys, I thought I would follow up with one more picture now that I have the suspension installed The truck is 2018 3500 g56. Wheels are OEM Power Wagon. Tires are BFG KO2 in 35x12.5. Suspension is the full Thurens setup. .5" soft coils, .5" leaf springs, track bar, sway bar, bump stops...

How to Add Automatic Temperature Control (ATC) to a Manual Temperature Control Truck

I seemingly have no issue with the upper vents when selected manually or the defrost vents when I press the front defrost button. Answers to the questionnaire below.

    HD Lift and Tire Information

Ended up getting 35x12.5 BFG KO2s. Mounted on the power wagon wheels they fit with no rub. Pokes out a tiny bit up front, so I may end up also ordering the OEM power wagon fender flares and mud flaps. So far I like it!

    It's definitely a 17". The tires are 285/70r17.

    HD Lift and Tire Information

I finally got the truck today. Interestingly enough, what I thought were aftermarket wheels appear to be the ram 2500 17x8 alloys that seem to be identical to the power wagon except for the machined lip. Maybe I'll just hold off on wheels and try to shove a 35x12.5 on there and see what fits!

2500 vs 3500 for an AEV Prospector XL Conversion

Truck is finally en route to me. It's coming from NC all the way to CA. It's a CPO 2018 Tradesman with 11k miles on it. About the only option it has that isn't what I wanted is the electronic t-case control, but I can live with that. I switched gears entirely from the AEV after I digested the...

    HD Lift and Tire Information

Thanks, thats a good data point. Do you happen to know what the offset and backspacing is for the power wagon wheels? Also, technically the letter isn't associated with the weight capacity. It's what the max PSI is, right? The load rating is a number like 118Q or similar. Edit: It looks like...

    HD Lift and Tire Information

That's a fair point. I figured with the derated progressive rear springs the tires could go down as well. It's still more than enough payload to match a 2500, I think. The 35x12.5 is a bit higher rating, but I'm worried they will poke out and/or rub. I suppose I could get the power wagon fender...

    HD Lift and Tire Information

Hi folks, I'm considering a Thuren .5" front and rear for my 3500 with the AEV 17x8.5" rims and Toyo AT3 35x11.5". Does anyone have something resembling that setup? I really don't like when tires poke out beyond the fenders, so I'm curious how the narrower wheels and tire would look. I assume...

2500 vs 3500 for an AEV Prospector XL Conversion

Hey guys, thanks for all the advice. I bought the 3500 and I'm pretty excited. I'm considering chickening out on the whole AEV package. With options it's like $24k. I could do a top tier carli suspension and buy a lot of accessories if I was happy running 35s or 37s and still spend less than...

2500 vs 3500 for an AEV Prospector XL Conversion

I'm actually going to call USAA today and ask them about GVWR and see what they say. I'll post back. However, if you strap a ton of lumber to the roof of your car putting you over GVRW and god forbid, get into an accident where someone gets seriously hurt, lawyers are going to come after you. I...

2500 vs 3500 for an AEV Prospector XL Conversion

Hey Rick, I've read some of that, but "premature" was reported as more like 40k mi on lift and 70kmi total, type of thing. It doesn't seem like it's blowing out bearings in 15k miles or anything, so I think I can probably chock that up to the cost of doing business...

2500 vs 3500 for an AEV Prospector XL Conversion

Hey guys, I know the 2500 is capable of more than GVWR, but I'm not willing to flirt with a "legally" overloaded vehicle. If, unfortunately, you were in an accident, it would open you up to all sorts of liability and could cause your insurance to fail to pay out, etc. Just not a risk I'm willing...

2500 vs 3500 for an AEV Prospector XL Conversion

Thanks guys. Sounds like soo far I won't regret the 3500. It's not like I'm going rockcrawling in this thing. I just want good clearance capable on rough two track. I know the Prospector XL is overkill, but I think they do really nice job and it's a really well engineered package. I'm not...

2500 vs 3500 for an AEV Prospector XL Conversion

Hi folks, I'm close to pulling the trigger on a truck that I will have converted by AEV into a Prospector XL. I had initially intended to get a 2500 for the 5 link coil spring rear suspension, but when I looked at a door sticker for a laramie diesel, the payload was like 1970lbs. The whole...

Help Searching Dealer Inventory for leftover G56

Help Searching Dealer Inventory for leftover G56

Hey folks! I was hoping someone could help me out. I'm trying to locate a leftover 2018 crew cab sb with the g56. I'm going to have AEV do a Prospector XL conversion, so I was hoping for new. (I'd also be happy with very low mileage used). Does anyone have the ability to use the ram dealer...
