How to Fluid Film your truck

To be sure 2 Hours only was the 1 Gallon. It went fast. The prep time, rattle cans etc and re assembly was time intensive. Me being Me I took my time over the weekend. Bought new hardware where needed. And my total truck down time was three days. But hey I'm a detail oriented Ex Military Guy...

How to Fluid Film your truck

I went through a Gallon (whole truck) in about 2 hours once started using a 60 Gallon 11.5 CFM Compressor and 8 Rattle Cans. (Used in the doors, hood, inside fender flares, tailgate etc.) I mixed the FF using a drywall mud mixer on my Milwauke drill after the gallon sit in hot water before...

How to Fluid Film your truck

Aluminum dislikes being bolted to steel. All the Military applications I saw used teflon gaskets between the two. Galvanic Corrosion sets in fast. Aluminum does have a natural barrier against corrosion but if any mechanical means removes that "skin" it's over fairly fast. I remember the door...

Now that winter is approaching I need to...

I also used the can red tips and shot FF inside all four fender flares. It is wicking nicely around the bolts. Just ordered 3 more Gallons to hit the Deuce as I am sure it will gobble it up.

How to Fluid Film your truck

I forgot to mention, I used CRC SX128 (Salt Terminator) through my Pressure Washer on the Truck and let it dry for 24 hours before Fluid Film application. If like Me you are on a well make sure to bypass your Water Softener and run hoses out of salt first. I just ordered Salt Away for the...

I added CRC Heavy Duty Rust Inhibitor on all areas where fluid Film might experience heat or rock hits. The front inner fender area at rockers and along the bottom of the rockers where the factory spot welds are and into the gaps as seen from below. I also coated the rear exhaust to near the...

    Air conditioner acting up “fixed”

Sounds like maybe the connection wasn't solid and it over heated due to amp draw? Was it melted? My question would be did the wiring suffer annealing? If so you may have further issues down the road. Make a check with engine off to see if the wire insulation is damaged. (Crisp or hard and not...

    Air conditioner acting up “fixed”

Another bit of information. Automotive systems use rubber hoses for vibration isolation. If you look closely at the hoses you will see pin holes every so many inches on every make and model. These are to prevent bulges from outgassing. So when you hear "probably needs a charge" that's why and...
