I'm not unfamiliar with diesels especially cummins, I've been a trucker for 20 years, this is why I'm asking this question, it's just too long to warm up to operating temp.....
I guess I'm lucky enough to be able to take care of all of my own mechanical maintenance on both 1500 an 2500 I guess! keeps our costs low. But yes fuel cost are high,
season greetings friends
How so ? I own both 5.7L and 6.7L I don't find maintaining both gas nor diesel expensive at all, the intervals between oil on the diesel at longer than hemi so really I don't get it?
Maybe it's just me... our 2012 Cummins is deleted and the egr is turned out, but still on the the engine. Once winter sets in we keep it plugged in constantly, we command start the truck and run it for 30 minutes to warm up before going anywhere. The temp guage doesn't seem to want to move at...
After 20 years of driving cdl my 15 year employer just bought me an 18 speed automated kw .... I know off topic sorry just sayin.... can't find a f##kin stick shift anymore
Oh by the way A recreational vehicle is exempt form scales in any province, that being said a "recreational vehicle" could be your peterbilt or kenwoth with your 5th wheel holiday trailer
Just know your vehicle and its tow rating
I've been towing my travel trailer for 15 years in Alberta, when and where have you seen random inspections for RV's
It almost never happens, and to be honest it should happen more often because there are people towing trailers with vehicles that shouldn't even have a hitch on them.
That is only if you are running commercial buddy, if you are using rhe truck for personal use here in Canada they don't seem ti give a rats a$$ about what you tow.
Wow my 1500 is 10 years old this year, 269000 kms just normal maintenance and oil changes, changed the front cv axles once, and it's still runs an looks like new.. jezzz you must beat your ride pretty hard dude... ✌️
My 2012 1500 does the exact same thing, I have 266900km on the clock and yes it's the mds ticking under the hood, either drive it manual shift mode or tow haul, will solve your noice problem.
I would have gone the cheaper route an just deleted the EGR DPF an DEF, it's all nonsense that Costs you tons of money to diagnose and repair cause you don't know exactly which piece is on the fritz.....
You should be able to get those clips at any parts store or your local ram dealer, that's where I picked mine up at. I would highly recommend replacing them and not just reusing the old ones, this just doesn't work out well in the end.
The connect part number should be able to located on...
I'm just wondering if it's possible to disassemble the front diff and replace bearings inside that fail.
My problem is the driver side stub shaft that sticks out from the diff is all loose an wobbly and leaks oil, causing the cv shaft to flop around and bind up at times.
Any information on this...
Something else to note as well boss, your 1500 had rack and pinion steering where the 2500 has a gear box style set up. Just sayin its gonna take a bit to get use to is all.
I dont live in the US so don't worry we Canadians don't like stealing shit....and my wife is usually in the truck when it's running. Plus we live in igloos rite so we have to leave them ldeling to keep them warm
