Ram Updates: What we know so far

I think forcing anything is bad, but I dont think that current gas prices are some conspiracy theory in forcing adoption of EVs. To buy that theory you have to completely not understand how global economies work and at the same time give a lot of credit to some poltician(s) somewhere, which I...

Ram Updates: What we know so far

Well, this thread got me to go out and put down a deposit on an EV. Its not replacing my truck, but it is replacing my wife's car. With how much she drives and the majority of that being around town, it just makes too much financial sense, even if gas was $2.50 a gal. 2-3 times per year we do a...

Ram Updates: What we know so far

I am NOT on the train of everything needs to be EV now, but lets be realistic here rather than tout non-fact based talking points. They aren't telling the truth about how dangerous the batteries are, how many vehicles have caught fire. -EVs are not a conspiracy theory, but it is certainly more...

HELP - Purchasing a Ram and I need input

Personally, the only way I would be purchasing a vehicle in this market would be to order a new one as that is about the only way to get a deal. The used vehicle market is so overpriced that when the market corrects itself (maybe in 23?) the value of used will drop dramatically from where it is...

Buying a newer truck and have some questions

If you find a truck that meets your needs aside from gears, you can always swap gears.

    Leaving key FOB in Truck

If you really want to leave the fob in the truck, get a faraday bag so that the truck cannot sense it is there, and someone cant just touch the door handle to unlock it and then just start the truck and drive away (assuming you have push button start if you have keyless touch handle entry).

IS IT TIME 5.7 TO GET DROPPED ???

Honestly, there are already waaaaay too many pages here debating the claimed mpg of other brands for me to read them all, but my take (maybe already suggested in the previoues 26 pages) is that rather than ditch the 5.7, Stelantis should add twin turbos to it. They probably wont though, all...

My dealers oil change dumbfounded me.

I would take my business elsewhere from any business that is not going to do what I am trying to accomplish. In this case I am sure this is a business policy and the supervisor would have no knowledge of any liability law (nor would their counsel who helped them craft this policy), nor could the...

Consumer Reports Predicted Reliability for '22 Ram 1500 Classic

I just love that they actually think that there will be a 2022 Cybertruck. I would bet money against that happening.

extended warranties the spanish inquisiton and you!

Sounds like the dealership is not sure where the leak is coming from and wants to do what dealerships like to do: throw parts at it at the customer’s expense until the issue is addressed. I would try to reseal the 3rd brake light myself (as others have suggested, really should be pretty easy)...

    SEALING A MULTIFUNCTIONAL TAILGATE

I could never get a regular tailgate to seal well (tried 2 different products) so I imagine it will be nearly impossible to get the mf tailgate to seal. The gaps around the tailgate vary in width so some spots wouldn’t make a seal, truck bed was lined and the seal didn’t like the texture and...

    2022 Ram 1500, 2500.....Yawn

If I am reading reports right, only the GT package gets the console shifter (along with the TRX), the other models will still have the dial.

Any of y'all getting offers to buy your late model trucks?

This. When its a great time to sell it is also a terrible time to buy, and right now with the shortages you would have to be alright without a truck for a while. On the fleet side I can't even order a 1500 at the moment.

    Truck Shortage = Profit

FYI, residual buyout of a lease has nothing to do with the market, either when you first lease the vehicle or when you buy it out. Lease buyout price is based off of MSRP of the vehicle and is generally around 55% of the original sticker price for a 3 year lease. The day you sign your lease you...

    Air Bags in Rear?

I have run air bags on many trucks over the years, and would always do so on a coil spring setup.

Mopar Denying Covered Repairs on Maximum Care Lifetime Warranty

So, what exactly are you wanting them to cover that they are currently denying? Shocks? I honestly don't see how front shocks could be causing this issue you are describing. How bad is the thud? That sounds more like an issue with driveshaft u-joints. Have you crawled under the truck to check...

Any thoughts about shortages and current dealer pricing? I am stuck

Its not just the chip shortage - have you tried to purchase shocks lately? Lots of suppliers are short, add that to the fact that people got a down payment put in their bank account and are bullish about the economy right now, so prices are up because supply is low but demand is high - applies...

    Chrysler screwed me

How did the dealer know you weren't using the correct oil? Did you tell them what you were using or did they sample it to verify?

    Mobil 1? Why not?

What also needs to be taken into account is that if you had an engine fail, the dealer (or FCA/Stellantis) would then have to sample your oil and somehow verify that it was indeed the incorrect oil (hard to do without having done a sample of the clean oil where first put in during the oil change...

    Dealer Treatment

I can't believe that just from a safety standpoint the dealership would be alright with that practice. Every tech should have access to a step ladder. This is a common myth that dealerships don't make money off warranty work. There are many dealerships out there that are very good at doing...

    Jump starters

I like the small Antigravity ones. Easy to store in your vehicle because they are so small. Sure beats the old large jumper packs. My 7 year old one just started an F150 that hadn't been started in 2 years, and then did an Edge that had been sitting for more than a year.

One Chevy feature I’ll miss - Auto 4wd

This would be great. It seems though that car manufacturers are designing cars for the average Joe that doesn't even know what 4wd is these days so they try to make things as simple as possible for the user, which they think means knobs that do everything electronically. It seems every 4wd...

    Warranty question

Short answer: it shouldn't. Long answer: it wont as long as installing the new performance muffler can't be directly linked to causing a failure. I can't picture a scenario where just installing a performance muffler would cause any issues to a vehicle, assuming it was installed correctly.
