Do you have an engine out of the second gen body style truck? If so try looking for parts for your model year truck not the engine? If its the original engine look for parts for the LA model not the magnum the LA was the first gen then they switched to the magnum when they switched the body style.
I bought a used 318 engine for my 92 dodge and I think it had sat a while but idk I put all new seals in it and dropped it in. Started right up and ran good other than a little lifter tap I took the intake off and got to inspecting the cam and the lobe on the cam of the number 3 cylinder exhaust...
I am wanting to rebuild my 318 and cam it but idk where to look to get one mopar website only goes to 01 and jegs is a gm and ford kinda place need help.
And also should i keep stock pistons or bore it out and oversize pistons as well and i am also doing a carb swap to hopefully get rid of my...
I am looking for a manual 4 or 5 speed tranny and a clutch slave cylinder clutch pedal transfer case and front and rear driveshaft that with bolt up to or has an adapter plate to bolt up to 92 318. :redxhitrf7:
With it being a manual the tranny isn't why its dying. Because when sitting still and the clutch disengaged the engine isn't even part of the tranny. Even if it is sticking that wont cause it to die. I would check all your fuel system such as injectors filter fuel pressure regulator and ignition...
Will I be able to bolt an nv4500 to my 318 or will i need an adapter plate or do they even make one. If anyone knows anything about AT to manual swap please let me know never done this before. :hitit:
I don't think it would be anything in the tranny because with the clutch disengaged the engine and tranny aren't connected I would check out injectors spark plugs wires throttle body anything that has to do with fuel and ignition tranny is most likely not the problem
I have a 318 and my boss has a 360 and i can get up and go with a loaded hay wagon just as fast as i can but he has to stop at the gas station before i do i would stick with the 318 they are tried and true and built to last.
No I'm sure its not cable driven because on the cable driven speedometers the VSS has a spot for the cable to screw into and this one doesn't. I had the gauge cluster out today to verify that there was no cable connection on either end and there isn't. One of my buddies has a first gen and he...
Anybody out there that can tell what I can use or what I can do to get more T's and HP's out of my 92 318 without killing the gas mileage or any ways to improve my mileage because its less than a 360 right now
Idk what the clad is? I worked at Perfection Wheel and I would go with powder coating them but then again I don't know what clad is... liquid coat would work good too we did that and we still used the oven but they didn't get as hot but we also powder cleared the liquids but I didn't clear my...
I am having the same trouble with my truck right at the moment. Is the truck cold when it is doing this or is it warm? when my truck is cold thats the only time it does it. try letting it warm up and driving it.
No its not cable driven because thats what i thought and I looked and looked for the cable when I changed the vehicle speed sensor and there isn't one on the speedo either
I ran fuel injector cleaner through my injectors and it seemed to make my mpgs go down a lot. I thought it was supposed to improve your fuel mileage not make it worse! It seems to run rich is there anything I can do to fix this?:beatdeadhorse5::angry94:
I have a 92 w150 and the speedometer doesn't work. It hasn't worked since I got the truck. I replaced the vehicle speed sensor but that didn't help. Could it be the speedometer itself since the odometer isn't working either? Should I fix the speedometer or would it be easier to just put a tach...
