I have the gasser my father in law has the diesel.. I feel like I f’ed up big time buying the gasser. Can’t wait to get rid of it and into a diesel. We just did emission delete on it at 158k so far has been trouble free! It’s a 2017 model.
96k on my 2014 oil changes every 3k miles and mine just failed. Mds delete cam and tuner installed. Raised idle by 100rpm in hopes to help keep oil pressure up at idle.
I had a similar issue, turned out to be a wiped out cam. Dealer told me multiple times normal operation and no faults (morons can’t diagnose w/ out faults) after fighting and getting every manager in the building involved they finally agreed to tear down and found a wiped camshaft on the one of...
New cam phaser was the final fix!! Timing and everything else was assembled properly. Guess I should have bit the bullet on the cam phaser from the get go! Thanks for all the help guys. !
ya u should be able to leave them out for a bit lower but then the rear may not match. I have a 6” zone and used spacer. Perfect level and rides very nice. Also on stock shocks.... plan to switch soon tho
I have a 6” and I’m going to be doing complete spring replacement in the rear to aid with picking up trailers without playing with a crank wheel. Air out rear, back under then air up. I plan to do almost what Chris did and fabricate some spacers. I’ll let you know how that works when I’m done. I...
Cam is keyed to the gear. There’s only 1 position it can possibly go on. But I did check TDC CYL1 and made sure both valves closed. Truck runs great just sounds like a diesel and sets a fault. Guess I’m taking it apart yet again.
Update: got truck running smooth and idling, except NOW it has timing correlation faults and taps like a diesel. Checked timing 100 times and checked pushrods (all are properly seated) is there a specific way this phaser has to be before the but gets torqued. Followed the all data procedure and...
Thank you guys for the replies! I have read through that guide. I will double check the pushrod location cause that seems easiest at this point! Compression comes out good though, I would imagine if I had pushrods in wrong location I wouldn’t. But heck I’ve seen crazier things
I purchased an AMS racing mds delete for my 14 Ram (ams cam, lifters and diablo tuner) installed the kit and re-assembled everything. I installed the diablo tuner with MDS delete option and started the truck. it barely started but did run, ran like trash and stalled. tried again and wouldn't...
