Tips For Keeping Cummins Motor Oil From Becoming Gritty
I have been changing my oil at 7500 mile intervals with Shell Rotella T5 synthetic blend but I might stretch it to every 10K miles on this next OCI and run T6 full synthetic. I can't let it go every 15K like the manufacturer suggests, that's just too long for my OCD lol.- tex68w

Cummins 2500 vs 3500srw
I've had both and the only way to go for a slide-in is the 3500. The rear coils of the 2500 make for a nice ride in comparison to the 3500 but they come at a trade off for less payload and more side to side roll/instability when loaded down.- tex68w

5th wheel covers stuck
I finally got them out and cleaned them up. I then marked them with a paint pen so that you can index where they need to be turned to in order to get them out. Initially it required a set of vice grips to remove them, lots of friction causing them to stick due to 11K miles of dust/dirt/grime.- tex68w

5th wheel covers stuck
I have the factory 5th wheel kit which has plastic spin off covers for the ball and chain hookups but I can't for the life of me get them to release once twisted counter clockwise to be removed. Is this a common issue and if so are there better aftermarket options?- tex68w

Leveling/Lifting 2016 2500 Power Wagon
37's will fit on a stock PW but if you want a bit more clearance or want to level out the front simply throw on a set of Thuren 1.5" coils with the stock shocks and 37's and call it a day. -

2021 3500 hood
I kinda wish AEV would come out with a Heat Reduction hood for the 2019+ 2500/3500 trucks. I doubt they'd sell many outside of the full production conversion trucks which is likely why they haven't done one yet.- tex68w

Grille trim panels/applique
Can the grille trim pieces be ordered already painted or must one buy them in the base model black and have them painted? I have the chrome grille surrounds and I'd like to get all four pieces in white. Ordering the pieces in black and then having it all painted will easily be over $1K, sucks! -

Slight popping in the steering
2021 RAM 3500 with a 2" Thuren level with adjustable track bar, truck has 1600 miles on it. It was audible and felt, I figured describing that it could be felt through the pedals and steering wheel was much more important than just being heard. Regardless, it's been discovered and rectified and now I know that I am not crazy and that there was an actual source lol. -

It most certainly wasn't doing it when stock, it was very apparent almost immediately when driving it away from the shop post lift install. The wheels and tires didn't go on for another 100 miles so those can be eliminated as well and the alignment was after the wheels and tires. I trimmed the... -

I agree that this is difficult to track down and diagnose, but we've been going about it in the typical process of elimination format. It's certainly odd because I have never experienced this with any other kit or with the prior Thuren kit on my 4th Gen. -

Of course it won't be worn out this early on but it's not a long term solution either. I might try it to see if there's a change but it won't resolve the issue long term. For now I am going to touch base with Thuren and CJC later this week and see what they suggest. Until the rear lift blocks...
