6.4 Hemi 2500 Towing Advice, Please...

I'm not going to say that a set of springs won't help, because they will, but you're going to hate driving it unloaded. I've been down that road, and won't do it again. If you're opposed to airbags, then a set of helpers or overloads might be another solution. As far as the weight you're...

Tiny clunk in my steering is still driving me crazy

Thanks for the reply, I appreciate it. I'm thinking that's what I'll do next, since aside from the steering shaft all that's left is the box, and it feels ok.

Tiny clunk in my steering is still driving me crazy

I've replaced every steering part on my 2015 2500 about 10k ago. I got the BMF aluminum inserts for the u-joint under the dash, but I've STILL got a tiny clunk in the steering. I think I feel it in the lower ujoint on the steering shaft down by the box, but it's hard to tell. My question...

    Drag Link help.

Just crawl under it, grind the welds off and adjust it. Weld it back up where it needs to be.

Trying to find shorty headers, 2015 6.4?

Thanks for the reply Scuba, I appreciate it. After talking to a couple local machine shops, they said basically the same thing. And that they see a lot of 4.7, 5.7 and 6.4 manifolds come through the door. So, while long tubes might be fun, I'm just going to have my stock manifolds surfaced...

Trying to find shorty headers, 2015 6.4?

Title says it all. I'm finding a bunch of options for 1500's and 5.7's, but not for 2500's. I had some broken bolts and a warped manifold, so I'm considering some shorties. I've seen mixed reviews in some other 1500 threads, so maybe let me know what you guys have had success with. Thanks!

Bunch of new steering parts, still have a clunk in the wheel...

Hey fellas, the title kind of says it, but I'll elaborate. I've got a '15 CC 2500 4x4, 6.4. After I bought the truck about a year ago, I leveled it, installed Bilstein 5100's, Bilstein double steering stabilizer and 35's on 20's. More recently I have done a Synergy drag link and tie rod, Core...

Under seat tools and/or recovery kits?

Just curious what you guys have found that fits easily under the back seat for tool sets and recovery gear. I could grab some HF tools and make my own set easy enough, but I was leaning towards something that might already come in a case or something along those lines. Same with recovery...

    Synthetic Oil

Thanks for the advice on the oil choice fellas, I'll look to stick with RL

    Synthetic Oil

100% agreed. My concern would only be if the quality of product from RL is known to be dropping, then there's no sense in staying with it. I feel that way about just about anything. I'll never buy another Moog product in the foreseeable future, or another Craftsman tool for that matter. My...

    Synthetic Oil

So, I have RL oil in both of my vehicles with Hemis in them and both are due for a change. I'm not opposed to ordering more, but it sounds like some of the guys on this board aren't as thrilled with it as they once were. Neither one (5.7 and a 6.4) ticks or rattles, and both are close to 100k...

Ordered a set of Bilstein 5100 shocks

You'll love them, even if it's a hassle to get them off. If I remember right, I pulled the fender liners out to do the rears, the fronts just push out of the way with some persuasion. I'd definitely spray any of the fasteners for a few days, just to give you a little help.

    Maximizing mpg 6.4 hemi

I might be way off here and someone that knows should correct me, but from reading your initial post you're on stock wheels and tires. You might be giving some efficiency away with that combo. If it was mine, I'd consider a set of 19.5's on some skinny all steel tires. Like a Goodyear...

    alignment issue

One thing to note is that the OP's front alignment is probably "right", if he wanted it set to Ram specs. The wheel is just off center. I had mine aligned to Thuren specs after I put the level kit on it and it came out of the shop with the same issue, the wheel was off a few degrees. So...

    Floor Mats/Liners

I bought a set of Oedro steps a while back, so got a discount on a set of mats for my '15 2500. Love them. Way nicer than the Weathertechs I put in my '12 Grand Cherokee. They clean up easy too. The ones in the Jeep, not so much

Steering Wheel "rocks back and forth" in constant radius turn

You know, I was wondering about the possibility of something like this. I have a 15, 2500 that is in good condition. No play in any of the front end components that I can find, but there is occasional bumping in the wheel that doesn't feel like a wear part. I was waiting to put a new damper on...

Got myself a 2015 2500 6.4, couple questions for you guys..

I'm not sure what the argument is here. The bypass removes a potential blockage/failure point that could burn up a tranny pretty quick. In my truck, the fluid runs 30*+ cooler without it. Heat is bad on lubricants and fluids, everyone knows that. And as far as a warranty goes, most of the...

Shows how much I've been under the hood of this one.... I need to spend some time and figure out what I've got. My Jeep GC has a standard stat, so I guess I just figured this one would too.

Got myself a 2015 2500 6.4, couple questions for you guys..

Quick update: Just logged about 1000 miles of towing my TT to the Oregon coast and back to Eastern WA. Trans temps stayed in the neighborhood of 145*. Not bad considering pre-bypass they were 175* or more, unloaded just driving around town. Now I have my eye on a colder thermostat for the...

Got myself a 2015 2500 6.4, couple questions for you guys..

I got it off the 'Bay also. I'll shoot you a link in a PM. Overall, I liked it a lot. For the $$, it's pretty heavy duty plastic, and it looked good before I painted it. There was very little cleanup to do overall. It does come already in primer, which was well done, but I still spent a bunch...

Got myself a 2015 2500 6.4, couple questions for you guys..

The EVIC cluster is plug and play, you should be able to find on on the 'Bay, no sweat. For the 8.4, it's almost as easy, but not quite. Still not a big deal, but there's a few steps to get it done right. It's been covered in depth, so I'd read through the threads on this board, and then...

Got myself a 2015 2500 6.4, couple questions for you guys..

I generally don't like other people to work on my stuff.. It seems to go poorly. Besides, it seems that most of the kids in the shops these days are just parts changers. They have no idea how to diagnose much.

That was my plan. I'm not sure when it got it's last service, so a fluid and filter change was on the list when I do it. Now to figure out what trans fluid to get for it
