The reason I was looking for a compact was that my '08 really didn't have any place that was good for mounting a full size like I usually do, at least not IMO and a compact seemed like the answer. I might buy one anyways just to see if I like them.
I've run plenty of full and mid sized Cobras, Unidens and Midlands but have never used a compact radio. None of it matters as it looks like I'm going to be forced to get rid of the truck soon.
I'm thinking of buying a Cobra 75 WX ST compact but I hear mixed reviews on it so I'm wondering if anyone here runs one and how they like it.
I don't have room for a full size CB so it's either this or one of those smaller units...
I gotta do something CAI wise in the near future. My stock box lid got warped a little before I bought the truck and it only has one clip that will hold the lid down. Thankfully the lid still is tight enough that nothing seems to be getting in - I check the turbo and pipe pretty regular.
I thought about it but I've had zero luck with plasti-dip lasting on bumpers no matter what I do prep wise. I may still do both bumpers until I either replace them or bedliner them and the lower sides of the truck.
Just thought I'd throw up what I'm doing - at the slooooowest pace it seems - to the CTD.
The day after I bought it I put my POS toolbox and 105 gallon tank in.
Added the CTS
Brake controller
Got bored and plasti-dipped the grill shell
And as...
Just like the title say post up pics of your rig(s) doing work - whether it's playing grocery getter or pulling a heavy load and anything in between.
My 2008 CTD pulling my moms 2005 Wrangler Sport with dads 2012 1500 QCSB Hemi in the back ground.
Get ahold of Alligator Performance (theres an ad at the top of the page generally) about a Smarty S67. Their site says '07 and up but I'd double check to make sure it'll work on the '12. You should be able to get an 'ME' upgrade that'll let you kill the emissions stuff but again double check -...
I'd still check the rotors. My '93 would do something similar but at lower speeds - it'd shake at speed X until it got down to speed Y and then it was fine. Had one rotor that was warped just enough to do it. Changed both rotors and brake pads and it was gone.
Just my $0.02
New to this forum and to the 6.7. Got this rig after my 2007 F350 6.0 crapped out after 9 weeks and 5,000 miles of driving/pulling in the Rockies. My truck is nothing special - just a stocker thats going to be getting a little more power, stuff for pulling trailers and of course some goodies...
