2020 Ram 1500 5.7 cruise control
I have the same gear ratio and mine doesn't downshift like that unless I'm on an incline. But I can't say I've noticed it's as small as 1 mph. With the etorque the trans shifts very smoothly. Just wondering how you know it's downshifting? Have you set your dic to display what gear you're in...- MO RAM FAN

2020 Ram 1500 5.7 cruise control
I'm thinking that the lower axle ratio is probably the difference. I had a 2014 1500 with the 3:92 axle and I sure don't remember it downshifting nearly as much as the new truck with the 3:21 does. But, I sure like the 1500 rpms at 70 mph on the new truck. Just going to have to get used to...- MO RAM FAN

Ok to remove active shutters??
Maybe I can shed some light on all of this. When my truck overheated, I was trying to think what initiated the sudden rise in the temperature. 2020 Ram 1500 5.7 cruise control
Does anyone else have a cruise control that will change to a lower gear when the speed drops only 1 mph most of the time? I'm afraid the transmission is going to wear out before its time. I wish there was some way to reprogram the tranny so that the engine would speed up instead of the tranny...- MO RAM FAN

Interesting post. I have a 2020 Ram Long Horn with the 5.7 eTorque and 3.21 axle. I was pulling an empty 5x10 utility trailer that is light enough I can move it around by hand.
