I found the same experience with the 5100s on my 15 ecodiesel. bilstien did a marketing change and clearanced the older looking 5100s for like $260 for the set of 4 on amazon new, They improved corner handling and such with the firmer ride. I do regret lifting my truck though as I bought is used...
Well I put about 1400 mile on the truck in the last week with no issues got just over 25mpg round trip average which isnt terrible considering the mountains and stop in go traffic and the lift with the 34" tires..
so I read I may have overtighten and sure enough I loosened the bolts just slightly from where I had them torqued and no more issues.. I have a long drive to the outer banks from ny tomorrow so we shall see. I used the triax zf fluid from amazon.
I just ran into the same issue with this pan on my ecodiesel... im going to see if its something I can clearence as it does sometimes go into park and sometimes throw the error. bought the pan months ago on rock auto so cant return it.
They killed that engine in 2019 and released the 2020 ecodiesel which unlike the 3rd generation ecodiesl (like the one in my 2015) has been rock solid and leaps and bounds more reliable without the main bearing failures the Gen 3 eco is prone to suffer from.
Nothing against others but you could have ordered them anytime from amazon without the wait time... These are the ones I bought and used on my 2015... https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LRJ855E/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 bilstien changed the packaging so they are...
Great, I dont read everyones biographies on forums. Anyway I didnt need to read it did I since I already knew it would be a dog otherwise. :)
So your truck with 37" tires and 4.56 gears is about the equivalent of a stock truck with 3.55 gears as far as final gear ratio but with the added tire...
Well you must have 4.56 or 4.88 gears installed for it to not be very sluggish. otherwise, from experience on multiple lifted vehicles when I was younger including 2 before and after 4.56 gears, they became very slow and sluggish until the gears were replaced, which more or less returns the...
So I have had my new replacement 4 ply 34" nitto g2s now for a couple months... the 4 ply tires increased my average mpg 2 mpg to 17-18mpg with mainly city driving over the 10 ply tires. so there you go, dropping 20lbs of weight per tire did help. I havent had any serious high miles since the...
Its not a set amount.. If its off by 1mph at say 20mph it may be off by by 4mph at 50mph for example... Your MPG and odometer will also be no longer correct.
I recommend getting a $15 elm327 obd adapter and the alpha obd app since there a lot more you can do with it later like program your own...
I used these with my Bilstein 5100s and still have a bit of rake. https://superlift.com/product-detail/140?gclid=CjwKCAiA_omPBhBBEiwAcg7smeq8wYqMV0kG-ukQqTi37E993FT4MlCtf-IrJJ-uPfMuwXSibA9b1RoCKOUQAvD_BwE
full disclosure, im getting closer to 3" of lift out of my 5100s due to the previous...
I am using those same shocks with these 2" lift springs with no issues at all, ride is great. https://superlift.com/product-detail/140?gclid=CjwKCAiA_omPBhBBEiwAcg7smeq8wYqMV0kG-ukQqTi37E993FT4MlCtf-IrJJ-uPfMuwXSibA9b1RoCKOUQAvD_BwE then again this is just my experience on my ecodiesel crew cab...
I believe you need to replace the shocks with shorter ones.. When I bought my 15 crew cab 4x4 it had a 2/4" lowering kit in it and the front was lowered with the adjustable ride height struts.. the rear had shorter springs and drop brackets and short shocks. I had to destroy the front shocks...
You mean like the ecodiesel that was built for european caddies?... personally, if I had a choice, I think id prefer them over Fiats quality control issues. But then Ive recently been told they merges with the french company Peugeot ... I guess I cant play anymore Eddie Rabbit songs while...
in my case I have the optional 3.92 gears... with the 34" tires my rpms should still be comparible with the 3.55 gears and stock tires... thats not the case however. The rotating weight makes a large difference
careful with Jegs... I'm still waiting for new tires I ordered and paid for back in the beginning of October. they provide no info on the status of the order after the email they sent me a day after ordering stating it was backordered and expected to ship nov 20th. My ecodiesel doesnt require...
In what world would larger heavier tires with 6-7" of lift cause the MPG to improve though?
I have corrected the computer settings and reset all mileage counters. The computer tire size has been reprogrammed with alpha OBD and the entire dash cluster was upgraded to the 7 lcd display later...
Weight matters as much if not more than an inch or two of height but they both matter. I'm waiting on backordered 295/70/18 nitto 4 ply terra grapplers which weight 51lbs per tire to replace my 70lb MT (also 295s) because my fuel mileage absolutely sucks now with my tuned ecodiesel and 3.92...
if you google it, your will see a number of car manufacturers have had issues and some even recalls due to paint not sticking properly to aluminum body panels.. ford has one such recal on numerous vehicles including some year mustangs.
Dealers will try to return to stock or send it off to auction for some used car dealer to sell to someone like me. When I bought my ecodiesel I didnt even know it had a lowering kit in it and it was deleted with a banks intake. When I test drove it I looked under it and saw there was no cat...
Ill take you word for it. I ordered mine from amazon in September and Ive searched for them on there and linked them for others at least a half a dozen times since. actually the ones I linked are old stock with old packaging and thats why they are discounted ive been told. it makes sense that...
These are hard to find? https://www.amazon.com/Bilstein-5100-Shock-Dodge-2009-14/dp/B01LRJ855E/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=bilstein+5100+ram&qid=1639616533&sr=8-1 I bought these and instaled on my 2015 in october
