    Transmission question

Yeah, normal. Mine acts that way too. The 68RFE is a good transmission but is very clunky. Like it doesn't know what gear to be in, and is always a gear to high for the speed im traveling. Does better on tow/haul mode though. But shifting sucks, feels very lazy and throttle lag. Test drove a...

Fellow RGV guy, good deal going to a 2500 from a 1500. WAY better for towing.

    Towing 27' travel trailer....coil bags?

I agree with Hemi003, When I had my 2013 1500 Sport, I leveled it. Yes I could've gone with airbags to bring up the ride, but because the suspension was so soft, it would squat with anything in the bed. My 2014 2500 is stock and I tow quite a bit. Stock height for towing is the way to go...

    Ctd choices?

Also depends if its a 2500 or 3500. 2500 is only offered in Manual and 68RFE 6 speed auto. 3500 is available with all 3 transmission options. manual, 68RFE and Aisin. How heavy you are towing will tell you what option you need

how many of you tow with a 2 gen dodge

holy crap that's a lot of weight, what do you think the total weight was of the load? How did the truck take it, how did it hold speed? What speed were you doing? I've towed a max of 22k lbs in my 2014 2500 Cummins. 30' Big tex dual axle dually trailer. You can feel the weight tugging...

    2017 drw 3.73 vs 4 10

Man, my current 2500 with the 68RFE feels like a sloth compared to the 3500 Dually I test drove yesterday. I tow at or just north of 17k lbs, although my truck can handle it, I know I'm towing in Dually territory. Drove a 2017 Crew Cab dually with the Aisin and 4.10's and it blew me away...

Upgrading rear axle and springs from a 3500 to a 5500

Wanna see pics of what you're hauling. Interested in going into car hauling as well. I wouldn't be the driver since I don't have a CDL. I'll be hiring my bro-in law, but I'm considering a 3500 dually with the Aisin and 4.10's which I test drove recently. Debating trailers as well.

    Display for clogged DPF

I have a 2014 with 32k miles. No it does not say what percent your DPF is at. It only tells you when its doing a full regen, which the display will tell you that the DPF is 100% full/regen in process. In the time I've had it (from new) I have only seen it twice. The truck will do its thing...

    heavy load

Very nice My heaviest load on my truck has been just over 21k lbs on my 30 foot Big-Tex 22GN trailer with a John Deere Back Hoe on it. Handles it very well but I am in Dually territory and will be upgrading upon my next truck. Hardly squats it too, very impressed with this coil suspension.

    2015 2500 Cummins

In my opinion, unless you're gonna tow more often and more weight, get a 2500. Otherwise keep a 1500. The 1500 is a lot more comfortable. Yes the 2500 has rear coils but nowhere near as comfy as my 2013 1500 sport. I did need more towing capability so I upgraded to my now 2014 2500...

    RDS Auxiliary Fuel tank/Tool box

It would take A LOT of vapor to fill that area. I typically open the tonneau cover several times per trip for luggage and stuff. I was concerned with my luggage smelling like diesel but I haven't experienced it on any of my trips. @ 100+ degree weather either. So its been good. I only have a...

    RDS Auxiliary Fuel tank/Tool box

you might find another one that will tuck up closer to the sides but I find those sides pretty handy. I keep a spare gallon of windshield washer fluid in there. On the driver's side is where the feed tube goes down to the filler neck so you do need that space. I paid about $1000 for...

    MPG on new 2500?

@ 65 depending on what area (hills or mostly flats) will dictate what your mileage will be. I have experienced 18-20mpg @ 75mph in some slightly hilly areas. Hand calculated, the mpg meter on mine is typically exaggerated by 2mpg.

Took a road trip in December McAllen, TX Midland, TX Roswell, NM Santa Fe, NM Colorado Springs, CO Austin, TX McAllen, TX Just about 2800 miles total. Gotta love that Aux tank! Rarely stopped for fuel and having the ability to choose where I wanted to fill up was awesome. Have done...

    RPM towing

I'd say that's great. I went with my brother to Houston this week to bring back a rather small 26' travel trailer with no slide outs. approx. 4600lbs dry weight. Towed it with his 2014 Sierra 2wd 3.42 rear end. I will say there was strong winds and we had a lot of trailer sway. Just on the...

    How are the new 3500's

I have my 2014 I've done the updates but it still shifts pretty crappy but it tows well. I want a 3500 as I am towing a lot of weight but I haven't gone to test drive a dually yet. I don't know how much rougher the 3500 Dually will ride. I did test drive a 2016 F350 Dually 4x4 and it had a...

    Towin my new Gooseneck

No airbags, all stock suspension. Given the amount of weight I was pulling I think the slight sag I had was ok. Which was about 1" drop. I'm looking into Timbren suspension for to keep the sag in check. Gonna be pulling round bales soon which I think will have more pin weight than I had with...
