I really hate these tow mirrors

Old thread, but it’s mine so I can do that. I went ahead and got some 4th gen mirrors. I don’t like these either. The convex mirror is too narrow. Flipped down you have to choose to either see the back of the truck for backing, or see cars in the blind spot... heck the main mirror can see...

Identify connector front left above headliner

Any idea what this is for? The only thing I can think of that I don’t have is lit vanity mirrors, but I’ve not found any for sale. There’s one on both sides.

Falken Wildpeak H/T02 - Any experience with them?

So far they're awesome. I've hit some deep puddles at 45 and had no traction issues. I need new ball joints in the steering parts, but they seem to track as good as the old ones. I went from 9.6" wide with 7.2" sidewall (245/75-16) to 9.3" wide and 7.9" sidewall (235/85-16) so that's something i...

Recommendations on New tires for Ram 3500 dually towing 18,000+ lbs

From all my reading, I narrowed it down to General Grabber HTS60, Cooper Discover HT3, and Yokohama Geolander H/T G056. Of course I ignored that and settled on Falken Wildpeak H/T02 despite it not having a single review online. I've had great luck with Falken in the past and am hoping it stacks...

Traded the Panamera for a BigHorn 2500 today..now i need a muffler that sounds the same

Wow, Porsche to pickup. That doesn't seem like a common trade. I'd love to hear what a Hemi sounds like if someone dropped a few grand on trying to get it to sound like a Porsche.

    Strobe placement ideas?

I'm now having trouble figuring out how strobes work. I was assuming that the lights themselves were just simple lights (pos and neg) and they were flashed by the controller in the cab. But it seems theat every light says it has x number of flash patterns. Where are the "smarts" in these...

    Strobe placement ideas?

I don’t. I’ve thought of that though. While it’d make it much easier, I don’t think I want to go that rout… I want to keep it from looking that much like a work truck if that makes sense.

    Strobe placement ideas?

For rear facing I think a bar mounted high in the back window. I'm kinda struggling with the front though. I don't like the look of aftermarket lights on the grill. Maybe a few hide-aways that poke thru won't be too noticeable. I'd really like to have strobing clearance lights, but none are made...

Falken Wildpeak H/T02 - Any experience with them?

Anyone have experience with these tires? I've found threads on every tire that's on my list except these. They aren't even listed on Tire Rack or 1010. I've had Falken passenger tires in the past that made it to about 72k before they separated. If I can't find any experience with these, I'm...

    Favorite car audio brands (2022)

I got an alpine deck and type S in the doors about a year ago in another truck and was a bit disappointed. Put a pioneer in this truck and it’s awesome. I went wild ID in the doors and they’re awesome. Will probably be quite a while, if ever, till I mess with a sub.

Death of the V8 & birth of a.... Inline 6?

I'd like more transparency and honesty from mfgs. Toyota's new twin turbo in the Tundra came out of the gate with a crippling turbo issue. It was waste gate related, but no official description of the problem was ever released. The number of affected vehicles was between 15 and all of them...

Death of the V8 & birth of a.... Inline 6?

Wonder what the “forums” said about the model t and how horses were better? Bet there are articles from then that would be fun to read. I think the main issue with the new-fangled things is how EVERYTHING is bundled into one, fragile computer. I had the current generation accord. A leaky tail...

Death of the V8 & birth of a.... Inline 6?

Mazda is supposed to be coming out with an inline 6. Next year's CX-90 has a pic on the teaser page witha badge that says "inline 6" so I guess it's not just a rumor. Probably a completely different engine, but it's similar timing. Wonder if they shared some R&D.

Ram recalls and terrible customer service

I'm sure a team of lawyers helps in knowing how to play the game. Also there's "Borrow a little, the bank owns you. Borrow a lot, you own the bank." I'd bet stopping payment is part of a perfectly viable plan, but is not in itself a plan.

    Does payload matter?

I was going to mention (ask about) this. "Payload" has some definition, and it's not "anything that fits in the bed." Just a quick torque calc of the bike about the rear axle: 200 lbs, 10' behind axle = 1000 lbs, 2' behind axle = 2000 lbs 1' behind axle. Your pic says that cg should be in front...

    First Born

To answer the question asked, I'd take it to whomever I trust and authorize one hour of investigation. I don't think a dealer's hourly rate is too much more than anyone else. There's probably a higher chance of a guru being at a dealer. I'd also try to figure it out myself on here, but it looks...

Ram recalls and terrible customer service

My first thought about this was that it is not at all a course of action, but then remembered Steve Lehto (lemon lawyer on youtube) did a vid about how the lien-holder does have a duty of some kind. I forget the specifics, but a guy bought an incredibly expensive mower and the manufacturer went...

Ram recalls and terrible customer service

Good idea previously mentioned to contact the lein holder. Wonder if they’d have anything to say. They certainly would rather OP not be in a situation that increases likelihood of not paying. Insurance may care as well. Wonder if they would include this in coverage of some sort.

Ram recalls and terrible customer service

I hate the whole dealer model thing. Don’t they have legal monopolies of some kind? I absolutely hate having to talk to dealers. I want to talk directly to Chrysler (or other). If something is stupid on the car, the dealer just agrees and complaining about it does nothing (or feels like it). If...

Ram recalls and terrible customer service

My wife had two accidents in the past year. Both times her car was parked and unoccupied. One was wheel, rear bumper, parking sensors, taillight, and quarter panel. One was front bumper, hood, headlight, quarter panel. Both took about 2 months to get parts (insurance’s shop). New plastic...

Ram recalls and terrible customer service

I'd definitely find a lawyer for a consult even if it cost a couple hundred. I know there are lawyers that specialize solely in lemon law. Depending on the state, they may be free cause the mfg pays all legal fees. While the dealer is the middle man, they are being scummy by covering for the...

Death of the V8 & birth of a.... Inline 6?

This was a huge Camaro problem for a couple years. A Cadillac was affected but not sure about trucks. I think it was only the rwd A8. They had some improperly formulated ATF that cause horrendous TC chatter. Multiple fluid changes didn't help and would still fry a new TC. The final fix was two...

Death of the V8 & birth of a.... Inline 6?

Yieks... Looks like the LY7 and LLT versions are out. After that it's not fixed but less common, so GM almost made a good engine. They also put bad transmission fluid in their A8 that would fry torque converters, so I guess I'm not too surprised.

Death of the V8 & birth of a.... Inline 6?

I've not heard of that. Or maybe I have but they fixed it? There have been a few iterations and are on the LGX currently. Asside from that, it makes good power and surprising MPG, so it's at least a good example that N/A 6 ought to still be in the running against forced 4.
