Thanks, the Ram “mapped” itself, but I will look for a tuner in my area. The engine ran very smoothly prior to the keg delete and did not use any oil, but you could hear the plenum leak. After the Hughes install the idle dropped from 1100 to 550 rpm. Finding knowledgeable mechanics is an arduous...- donaldus

Magnum Intake Shootout
Ordered the air gap and cam from Hughes; air gap was delivered in a week, cam came a month later…anyone know a great shop in DFW area to install the cam? Truck (98 5.2 with 80K manual 4x4) runs great, needs more “oomph”!- donaldus

Added steps from CarId…mislabeled “driver’s and passenger” side, so a one hour install turned into four hours of reinterpreting Chinese installation instructions.- donaldus

What did you do to/with your second gen today?
Hughes intake to fix plenum leak for good, new water pump, fan clutch, platinum spark plugs, wires, distributor cap. Serviced differential and 4 wheel drive components. Good for another 40K.- donaldus

New to forum; old to Rams!
Just got a 1998 Ram 1500, 5.2 with only 80K, I’m owner #2. I started my Ram collection with a 96, 2000, 2005, 2014 Ecodiesel that made me leary of Ram products. This one fit my needs (4x4 manual).
