Asked on the 4th gen rams Facebook group since there are a lot of guys there who have done cam and lifters, and confirmed oem lifters do in fact have laser etching. I cleaned up the lifters I have a bit and found laser etching on those too that I missed earlier. What a lot of back and forth lol...
What quick shifter said, have to loosen and retorque all suspension bushings under the weight of the truck whenever you change the height. I had to learn that the hard way lol
So now I’m back where I started. Johnson lifters doesn’t appear to even make MDS lifters and they’re not much cheaper then mopar anyhow. I’m very tempted to just buy a single mopar lifter or yoke of lifters to replace the bad one and move on. I hate to waste so much time and money on something...
Out of curiosity, are there any decent aftermarket lifter brands out there? I kind of assumed everything non oem is garbage. It’s a flip so I’m not worried about it lasting forever but I’m not about to put known garbage in it either.
I have noticed several different variations of boxes, for example this listing shows flatter boxes with dodge Ram srt and so on printing onto the boxes...
They arrived today. If anyone can point out anything suspicious or could provide pics of known authentic mopar lifters to compare, that would be greatly appreciated, otherwise these will be going in some time this week. In particular that tiny black line at the bottom of the sticker actually...
Not all spline sockets are the same, has to be for your particular brand of lugs. Post a pic of the lug nuts to confirm they are gorilla brand and I can get you the socket number.
Timing chains last the life of the vehicle theoretically. If you want to be super on top of preventive maintenance, sometime between 200 and 300 thousand miles would be good.
You need to remove the grill to have room to grab the light better, it’s just 4 screws and some clips takes 60 seconds. Then pull the front edge of the housing out and away from the truck. It feels like your breaking something but that’s exactly what your trying to do, break it loose lol. Been...
Most likely they are aftermarket gorilla spline drive lugs, they’re the most common for aftermarket wheels. I don’t seem to have the socket part number saved but can grab it tomorrow. Look for a rectangular silver sticker that says Gorilla on it, it will have the socket number on it also. Might...
There’s a ball and socket towards the back of the light you have to pop loose to get the light out, first time removing them it will be quite stiff. So if you’ve removed everything else correctly you do just need to pull harder. Definitely remove the grill if you haven’t already.
Towing a trailer of that size, personally I would keep it under 3”. Look at bilstein 5100 and 6112, Fox 2.0 and 2.5, eibach, do some searches and read through some threads on here and determine what fits your price range and usage the best.
You just explained how they sit higher. Move the heavier spring over to the lighter side, and add an even heavier spring in to the driver side. Anyone who’s ever changed the ride height on a warlock or outdoorsman can tell you that and I’m certainly one of those, lol. How else do you explain...
I have the 5100s and wish I’d got the 6112s all the time. The 5100s are great for what they are and I’d recommend them for most people, but just not quite enough shock for what I use this truck for. At the time I had just spend $1500 on icon coilovers which turned out to be a disastrous fail and...
Appreciate the input, I’ll go for it. Paying $1k from a mopar site is pretty much out of budget, it’s for a flip project that’s only going to be worth $5k max. Already have around $2k total into it, and will probably be $3k before I’m done with it.
I was originally hoping to reuse the oem...
I would never put anything other then LT on a truck, E rated is a must also IMO. Even with an occasional light trailer the difference between E and C is huge, I have a set of C rated duratracs on my truck right now for kicks and giggles and truck was noticeably bucking pulling 1000lbs. Switching...
