3.92's are fine for 35's. A 35 isn't much larger than the stock size. However, if you plan to tow, or haul heavy loads...do the gear swap. If you don't plan to do any of that, just having a programmer will suit you fine.
Any modification, from stock design will put strain on a vehicle. However...the stock tires are just under 34"...and a 35" tire is just under 34" as well...you'll be fine.

Are you going to run them at stock height, with stock tires? Or, are you going to use it to run larger tires? Regardless, I'd say they will ride better than OEM. But, I have less than 100 miles on mine...the truck just sits.
