I have this code on my 88 D100 3.9k But when one looks at the fan, it is clearly belt driven.
Where is this relay? Is it easily replaceable? And more importantly, whey would the code show this for a belt driven fan?
THANK YOU!
That is the bad / broken wire that was repaired before. The break on the Red end where all the wires split is right at the rubber molding.
The other end is pink and the dark brown that looks like the same brown in the fuse panel for the fan.
So, what is the AMP rating of this...
I trying to find the pick and orange wire fusible link for my blower, I found a bad patch with a broken wire.
The battery side has five wires coming out of one black wire. Four of the wires are 12ga (I think) with one being much heavier. The broken wire had a bad patch link the feed to a...
Yes, I am testing with the key turned on. I even double checked another slot to make sure I was testing correctly.
I appreciate your gentle reminder. I need them on occasion.
Thank you for the location. Now to warm up a bit (temp is dropping now) before I head out and start the hunt...
88 D100, small V-6, auto
I have not power at the fuse panel for my AC/Heater blower (fan).
Is there a fusible link in the power path? If so, where is it located? And what is good replacement?
You have two threads running on the forum for this topic.
One is in General, and this in in Interior. The one in General is the long, 7 page thread.
I got my control out and it looks good, no burns but it was not getting power where it needed to go. Now to find one.
I just took apart my dash trying to figure out the same thing for my 88 D100. Fan stopped working. Yet it works when fed direct following the troubleshooting procedures.
Switch checks out, resistor checks out, fuse checks out. All the wires I can trace check as well. It is like there is a...
Shifter works for the Automatic gear selector.
But Haynes & Chilton do not say how to fix the Gear Indicator linkage.
Mine does not move.
Where can I find a good set of directions (with 8x10 photo glossies with descriptions on the back) and the parts?
Thank you
Thank you for the info everyone.
My FIL has the same '88 V-6 with the manual 5-spd gear box. He regularly pulls a 4000lb camper about 20 miles to/from camp ground, and a larger trailer with a bobcat around town for landscaping work. Nothing at highway speeds and not really that...
I know that a filter in and of itself will not make an mpg change.
The related larger air intake with cooler air can improve power and in some instances mpg.
But maybe I am confusing my understanding of a diesel application.
Still, has anyone changed their air intake system?
Have any of you upgraded your intake to one of those extra large, insulated, washable filter type intakes?
If so.....did it help with mileage and power?
What is the real world practical limit for towing with our beloved Gen. 1 D-100 trucks with the V-6?
I see I can get a hitch rated up to 1000/10K with WD. But is this practical? I do want to tow a lighter trailer.
Are the oil & trans fluid coolers and radiator large enough to pull...
Disappointed
Thank you for the help everyone.
I am very disappointed to hear Chrysler-Dodge has chosen to ignore loyal owners and not keep parts available for us.
1988 D-100, 3.9L V6, auto trans
I am in need of a fuel level sender to replace the OEM that quit working.
I can find pumps all day and my FIL just replaced his pump in his '88 D-100, manual trans. His fuel sender is still good.
