    2022 3500 HO - P2459 Dealer Replacing Rocker Arms

If you do some searching around the internet, you will find that the filter issue is a 5th gen only problem. Still doesn't seem like there is a lot of information on why but there are a few TSBs out for updating the filter part number.

    2022 3500 HO - P2459 Dealer Replacing Rocker Arms

Small update. Took the truck back in on the 8th and they checked a few sensors and pulled the DPF to see if it was overly sooty but didn't find anything. Got the truck back and started to have more frequent regens until I finally got another CEL. Truck going back to the dealership tomorrow...

    2022 3500 HO - P2459 Dealer Replacing Rocker Arms

Well it didn't take long to see if the swapped parts fixed the problem. Two more regens this week at 160 and 170 miles between regens. Going back to the dealership Monday for more diagnostics.

    2022 3500 HO - P2459 Dealer Replacing Rocker Arms

Well I was able to get back to the dealership yesterday. Looks like they replaced 6 rockers and 12 pushrods. I asked the service manager what tests were performed or how it was diagnosed. The short answer is for this condition, they submit the CEL and characteristics of the issue to Ram and then...

    2022 3500 HO - P2459 Dealer Replacing Rocker Arms

Makes as much sense as any theory I have. The next question I will have is what would cause the rockers to wear so quickly in 20K miles? Is there an update to the rockers that would prevent the wear or is there another defective component that lead to this (plugged oil passage)? Looks like the...

    2022 3500 HO - P2459 Dealer Replacing Rocker Arms

Learn something new every day. I thought I would finally have a truck where I didn't need a set of analog gauges on the A pillar but I guess it may be on the way lol.

    2022 3500 HO - P2459 Dealer Replacing Rocker Arms

No modifications to the drivetrain. I use HSS EDT in every fill up since new. I get fuel from 2 or 3 different places. All at the "big rig" pumps. I have a scan tool that I can get some data logs on however I am trying to avoid driving the truck until the work is complete. Hopefully I'll...

    2022 3500 HO - P2459 Dealer Replacing Rocker Arms

My understanding is the pressure is an actual sensor. It’s the temperature that is a calculation.

    2022 3500 HO - P2459 Dealer Replacing Rocker Arms

Oil pressure steady at 50-52psi while driving. No noticeable valve train noise or drivability issues. Almost seemed like the tech had seen this before and was being proactive?

No paperwork available when I picked up the truck. All parts and labor covered under warrantee.

    2022 3500 HO - P2459 Dealer Replacing Rocker Arms

Just thought I would start a thread to track the issue I ran into with my 2022 HO 3500. I have noticed it has been doing frequent regens lately and it finally threw a code (P2459). No change in power or drivability. I took the truck into the dealer and the fix that is suggested was a PCM update...

2020 ram 2500 clicking noise front left side of truck. When turned off

I always thought it was the EGR/throttle blade actuating. Seems kind of loud and high in the engine bay for the DEF pump.

    3500 DRW or SRW?

Ram's website is a little screwy when looking at payload and towing. I could be wrong but that center one has the numbers for the DRW. the SRW option is the on on the far left.

    3500's ride

I have a 2022 3500 SRW with no air suspension and you can expect it to ride like a truck. Coming from a 2006 DWR the suspension is much better composed but the ride is still on the stiffer side. When loaded, it rides so much smoother than my old 2006. I don't regret going with the 3500 over the...

Traded Up From 5.9 (New 3500!)

After 400,000 miles it was finally time to trade the 2006 5.9 for something a little more modern. Ordered the truck in mid March and picked it up last week. 2022 3500 Bighorn with the HO motor and all sorts of fun options. Already put around 1300 miles on it and can't believe how much better it...

Bad white smoke at start up

Typically no fuel additives are going to help if the injectors are not working properly. 200-250K miles is where most people get before new injectors. The issue could cause etching of the cylinder walls if not corrected. Basically the spray pattern turns into a waterjet that cuts if left long...

Need advice on purchasing a truck capable of towing heavy

The 5.9 is known for reliability but the 6.7 with the emissions equipment removed seems to be holding up just fine. The newer trucks absolutely have better build quality when it comes to the body, interior, etc. but drivetrains seem to be about the same. For that price you are going to be...

    Maintenance log?

I just keep a small notepad in my truck and log all maintenance. Low tech but easy to keep up to date. There are several apps out there that help with alerts but require you to log mileage and I'm not good enough to keep that up to date.

    Mopar Girl Gets a Ram!

Welcome to the Mega club! For routine maintenance I use Fleetguard oil fighters, Baldwin fuel filter/water separator (best filtration in stock location) and then added a Western Diesel fuel filter system. I put new injectors in at 250K miles and wanted to make sure I protected them. That is...

    Diesel Fuel Additives

Never heard any negative reviews of HSS and they are starting to become more common at larger truck stops so they should be easy to get even if you don't order ahead of time.

    Diesel Fuel Additives

I've been using the PS Diesel Kleen on my last three trucks (current 5.9CR is almost to 300K miles). I have read lots of studies on which fuel supplement is the best but it seems to always test good enough and it's available everywhere. I add it at the recommended ratio ever tank. Gray bottle in...
