    Any interest in a manual tailgate latch kit?

    I have a 2023 RAM 2500. It came with an electronic tailgate latch, which I hate. When I inquired about a swap, I was told by the dealership that there is no manual latch available for my model.

    I actually took my truck through the carwash on Tuesday. First time since May, so it was a tad filthy from a couple S Arizona dust storms we've had. Like always, I folded my mirrors in as they ask you to do, and like has happened half the time the roller brushes have popped them open again...

    The only weight on the door sticker will be the cargo capacity. Which is a good number to have, but there won't be anything about towing capacity. It will have axle capacities, though.

    I have learned to let this truck do what it thinks is best. Except towing downhill on a winding road. Then I use the ERS and put it in whatever gear feels comfortable and safe. Seems to work real well.

    Let me rephrase: There is no way for me to show the 'D' and the gear at the same time as there is nothing in my settings to change that.

    I activate my ERS with the button on the right side of the steering wheel. Once I do that, the 'D' goes away and is replaced by whatever gear I'm in. There is no way to show the 'D' and the gear at the same time.

After spending hours messing around trying to adjust the rails, removing and reinstalling the 6 clamps and remeasuring everything, it kept looking like both rails were bowed down in the middle so I removed the center clamps and they went back to normal.     The original battery on my 2000 Silverado was warrantied for 9 years. It died at 9 years exactly to the month. I replaced it with a 6 year battery from WM. It last 6 years to the months before it died. It appears we've been lucky.

    Since so many people have said that, I tested that theory right after I got the truck in 2023. I put it in T/H mode and about the time I hit 65 MPH it went into 8th gear.

    Once again, I did not wash my truck this month. It's a truck - I've spilled beer in the front, and there is dove blood on the seat from hunting season. I'm a happy camper. :cool:

    Never gave it much thought as I can't remember the last time I actually made or received a call while I was driving. A couple years ago, maybe. I make or receive maybe 3 calls a month, and I send or receive maybe 10 texts, total. My phone is 6 years old and doesn't have many bells and whistles.

    I've had 3 oil changes in my 6.4, and the 1st and 3rd time I used Mobil 1 0w-40 European Car Formula. That and Pennzoil Ultra Platinum is all I will use. The first change I did at 4000 miles, the 2nd was at 6000 because I had a leaking oil pan gasket and I have no idea what the dealership...

    I don't get any kind of message regarding my tailgate, open or closed. The only way I would know If I forgot to close it is if I put it in reverse and the camera shows me the ground under my hitch.

    And cell companies track you via you location app, which I also keep turned off except once in a while when checking the weather.
