More information... Service department looked at my truck. Since it was inside, the tech used his phone and SiriusXM account to play music. They tried to tell me it was my equalizer settings - then I got into the truck and listened. It sounds great.
We pulled outside and compared the same XM...
Believe me. It’s not right. My portable speaker sounds better than this truck. And the other 2024 Limited on the lot. Going into service dept today. Im no audiophile, but this system is embarrassing.
If Ram can’t fix this I’d rather have my 2014 back. It’s that bad.
So before ordering my Ram Limited, I sat in several 2023 Limited models with the Alpine 9-speaker system. I wanted to compare it to my 2014 Alpine (Laramie) AND determine if I wanted to add the $5k Limited Level 1 equipment (includes the Harmon Kardon system).
I was very pleased with the...

Evidently towing for 35 years (10 with a Ram 1500 with air suspension) is not enough qualifications to have a different...
That's a bit overkill for me. I'm 55 and have tinnitus (likely from Harley Davidson) - so high quality sound is likely beyond my perception.
Having said that, my wife and I can easily perceive a big difference between my new truck and; (1) my old truck with Alpine; (2) her 2016 Jeep GC...
Exactly... REAL WORLD EXPERIENCE
2024 1500 Ram Crew with 3.92s... I couldn't even tell you what the GVWR is. I've towed this trailer, at that weight with a 1/2 ton Ram for 22 years.
Physics and Math Double major... I'm "wrong" because I don't agree with YOU!
I've towed with and without air suspension, and with and without a load distributing hitch. Sorry, but I know what works in the REAL world.
You take ONE video of a few guys opinions on a SHOP FLOOR.
And Sorry if I'm...
You should carefully re-read what I said.
Leveling anything will transfer some (vehicle) weight back to front of the truck... It also evens the load distribution on the trailer axles, AND helps a great deal with aerodynamic drag. This will help a great deal with handling, especially on slick...
One month update... the Alpine system in the 2024 Limited SUCKS! Sounds TERRIBLE. Everything sounds "tinny"... like I'm listening to a 1980's Chinese boom box. There is no base... no range. The factory Alpine system in my 2014 blows this thing away. I couldn't be more disappointed.
I don't...
I didn't say it redistributed the tongue weight (which is negligible next to the truck weight). It does more than "level the body". It levels the entire truck AND trailer (and it is stiffer, like helper springs).
Making the whole rig level keeps both the truck and trailer happy - the correct...
Wrong... these are not just airbags added to the suspension. The 4-corner air suspension IS the suspension. I do not have coil springs.
Adding air to an air suspension (even an air shock) absolutely increases stiffness.
Keeping the truck AND trailer level absolutely helps with weight...
It automatically levels the truck as soon as the trailer is attached (tongue weight). It stiffens the rear suspension to handle the extra load.
I often tow my trailer 800 miles north into the UP of Michigan during January and February. Believe me, when you get on a snowcovered interstate...
I bought a 2024 Limited - not standard in that trim either. Neither is a spray in liner or bed lighting. But I knew that.
In fact, they dropped some standard features from the Limited in the middle of the 2023 model year (power side steps). They were standard in early 2023 and were dropped...
@Ram Air Rick 23
Glad you like them. I didn't get an estimate on delivery date. Basically, the dealer gave me 15% off the retail price - they retail for $500-$600.
If you search for the part number, you'll find the price.
I just received my in-bed lighting yesterday... OMG, the instructions...
You can't get those for a 1500 (I tried). Same boat as you.
I ordered the simple black Mopar boards from my dealer @ a discount (still don't have them though). Same boards came on my son-in-law's 2020 Big Horn Night Edition. The pictures of these suck. But I saw them on a newer white truck...
IMHO you can't beat the Bakflip F1 for a cover. Had one ten years on my 2014 and still looked good. You have to open the tailgate to flip it open (6'4" bed has 4 foldable sections). Will fold up and latch or all the way up against the glass. Want it off? Two hand turn "nuts" underneath and...
Yes... for the most part I liked my air suspension on the 2014. It had the off road 1 and off road 2 settings as well.
It really didn't act up until March of 2020. It sat a week in temps that ranged from 50F down to around 0F. After that episode it was fine until last year. The right side...
So I jumped from a 2014 to a 2024... both have air suspension. I've been noticing that my new truck seems "higher" than the 2014 - I thought it was just due to the lack of side steps. Then I discovered on the 2024 there's actually TWO modes you can drive over the road in.
Normal and Aero...
Cause they look "cool".
Why wouldn't you prefer a tire that
1. Wears out faster, and
2. Costs more to replace
Seems like a fantastic idea! All the MFG's are doing it.
(Please read the above in the most sarcastic tone you can imagine.)
