I ran 1/0 through the floor board straight to the frame. Nothing is going to be any better than that unless you go up to the battery. I learned years ago that grounding to the frame was better then any spot on the body.
Originally not form PA, but we live in Ashland, right next to Pottsville. Some famous brewery or something is there. Most Pa people know where I mean when I say that...:)
I'm liking what I see with your doors. I bet the mid bass sounds more full with authority? Good job!
As for the domes....I've ran domes in many many installs over the years. I've never heard a dome that can actually play in low with any type of authority. Most can't realistically do anything...
The same 10 speaker, I think 10, SONY sound system. It sounds okay, but I will be changing it out....thinking Summer timeframe. Still too damn cold in PA.
Can't seem to figure out a 3-way without doing pillars. From what I can see...tweeters are still in the pillars, but down lower than...
The for sale thread got deleted from missing the username/date deal. Didn't think of that when I tool the picture of the box.
The Helix didn't sell yet! I've been getting trade offers, at least 5 so far, but I want the cash. Need some new toys for the Ford. LOL. Once I get bored of the...
The new F-150 is a not the same truck from prior year. I had a 2013 F-150 and this isn't even close. The re-design is crazy nice. Plush....inside. Everything fits together nicely. Granted, I have the Platinum addition. WOW! is an understatement.
Picked up a 2015 Ford F-150 Supercrew Platinum 4x4. After I took one out and seen/felt the build quality, feel in love. Damn thing is so quiet inside, I thought I was back in our Mercedes. No Ecoboost, all 5.0 Coyote for me.
Selling my Netaudio box if anyone is interested. Its black newer style low profile version with the Arc Audio Black 12" installed. I also have his seat spacers I will include.
The Alpine Tweeters give it that factory look. The emblem matches perfect to the Alpine emblem on the center speaker grill cover. The Alpine tweeters are ScanSpeaks, sound and quality is top notch.
Nope, I left my DSP hi level settings factory. I experience no noise issues at all. Thankfully!! The Helix is nice, but would have stuck with the Helix non Pro version if I was to do it again.
In my system, I had to tame the 1.2k to 1.6k and the 400hz-800hz allot. Again at the 160hz to 315hz. The system also takes allot of EQ work "lowering" in the 4khz on up as well. Huge spikes in the upper region. I have tweeters set at -7db in the Helix software and still need to tame the crap...
On another note. When tuning, I find that anywhere between 18 and 20 works great when measuring with Pink Noise. I've ran my system all the way up the volume range and the frequency response after tuning stays the same for me. Doesn't matter if my volume is at 13 or up to 26, which is the...
Interesting find. I have no dip between 650hz and 1khz. In fact, I need to lower the EQ in that region using my Helix DSP Pro. I'm summing all the channels in the front using the software though. Not even using the rears. I don't lose any bass either as you mentioned, but I think the summing...
I have a thread over at the cumminsforum.com that I did on my 2013, but the same applies to the 2014. I will see if I can dig it up. I did my 2014 as well.
