Dark ATF fluid in a 545RFE, no shifting issues

Whirring / whining sound when you press the gas pedal
My 2007 1500 just developed a loud whining sound when you accelerate the truck. When coasting there's no sound at all. When you tap the gas pedal, it's pretty loud. What would you suggest it is?
